Expecting 5.0+ at Kahului across the island.

We may be far enough around the west side to avoid a direct hit.
Glad you posted and are on line hobie. We thought of you after I was told of the quake. Please keep all up to date. All I we can give you are positive thoughts. You ALWAYS have those my friend.

It's getting serious. The sirens just went off. That means the tourists will be scampering up the hill.

Thanks! We're up about 200 feet so we'll be okay. If it is big on our side of the island we may be without power for a while. Luckily, the water is gravity fed and we've got propane to cook with.

Our neighbor just got home from Lahaina. This is her first tsunami. She said the tourists are doing their best impressions of Chicken Little. Kinda like rope drop just after Cars Land opened.

Mrs. Hobie went into Lahaina as soon as the first warning hit to pick up the middle kid. We're all good.

We're starting to see wandering tourists cruise through the neighborhood. Last time we had an evening event we found people sleeping on the front lawn. Luckily, I had the sprinkles set not to run that day.

The highway just closed. That's the first time that's happened.

Local TV is now showing an image that has all of the quake energy focused dead center on Maui. Oh oh.
