But the money is spent on an investigation regardless. They would still be removing themselves from the gene pool (hopefully before breeding) which would eventually lead to improvement.

Seriously. Back when my daughter was little and we were teaching her that. We have a stray cat that adopted us. That cat would (and still does) run over to greet us when we came home. She always stops at the edge of the street, looks both ways, and then continues on across.

We would point that out to my daughter "See, Blackie knows to look both ways."

It is a sad state that cats have more common sense than most humans.

On a related note. I'm now teach my daughter to drive and she at least has good reaction time. Yesterday, were going down the road (one of the major traffic areas) and this stupid woman just walks out into the street to cross. Daughter slammed on brakes to avoid killing her. The woman just kept on going (followed by the sound of at least two more persons slamming on brakes..)

Way back in the day, we had one teenager going to the local middle school in Orlando just after I got out of High School who just walked out and got hit by a car. Mind you, they had cross-walk COPS at both crosswalks. What does this dumb kid do? Walked ten feet away from the cop and right into traffic then was surprised she got hit. I mean really?!

Best part, the cop ticketed the kid for jaywalking and not the driver!
I howled with laughter at this one, it was fully worth the 45 minutes parked to watch the kids mother get a verbal lashing then arrested for "Assaulting an Officer" because she stormed over and had a cow at the cop and starting smacking him. Never mind the fact they had 20+ adult witnesses to this kid and mom's utter stupid.

Only problem is if we got rid of the stupid people, we'd have a lot less entertainment.

Some people are stupid. I live on a major road with a lot of traffic. I understand the local PD is very hard on jaywalkers as a number of people have been killed crossing the road. I've seen whole families jaywalk, or if they use a crosswalk they cross on a red signal. I wonder if they're just trying to get themselves killed.

Due to a few schools where a lot of the students walk in the area there are crossing guards at the intersection by me in the mornings and afternoons, two to stop traffic on the main road. One time I saw two cars in a row turn right past the guards after they've blown their whistles and walked out to the middle while holding up their stop signs. Thankfully the students hadn't started crossing yet. Sadly there were no cops around to witness this and bust the idiots who blew past the guards. I don't know what all laws were broken but they could have at least been cited for failure to yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk I believe.

This intersection scares me, I hate crossing it on foot or bike. I live close to a bike trail I like to ride on and while I'd rather ride there I drive as I don't feel safe crossing this street.

Hmmmm, this reminds me of an SGT I witnessed pulling into Anaheim a few days ago..... Seems a group of SGs thought that the middle of the street crossing at Harbor and Disney Way would be a FABULOUS place to take a group photo!

"And here's Johnny just before his trip to the hospital! See, you can even see the car that hit him. Can you believe the detail? Just look at the expression on the driver's face." :p:

In all honesty, I would like nothing on earth better than losing all reason to maintain this web site.

Not like I'm betting that will happen though.

They're standing on top of all the cars they're blocking. :)

My seat-belt saved my life. The woman ran a red light at 45mph. I was going thru the intersection at 45 mph. My S-10 flipped over. I would have been dead without it. Instead I just ended up with a few scratches.
