Do you remember a instructor named Mark? He's the one that told my tech class the story of the bat-signal. He's still teaching at the college. And if you haven't been to the campus in a while, the old Studio 22 was replaced with a performing arts complex (two theaters, radio & tv stations and dance studio.)

Main Streeter - It is Mission San Jose. The main building that everyone looks at is actually a reproduction but it is beautiful inside.

Of course I remember Mark! LOL, he used to give me hell about not being able to use power tools correctly. He's a riot - after we struck the set for one of our Summerfest productions (Sound of Music, I think), he took a can of spray paint and gathered us around. He then took the model of the set, got a lighter, and we torched the hell out of it with the spray paint can. Mark was always a demanding, but awesomely funny guy. Very talented, too.

Speaking of Sound of Music, as I mentioned, we borrowed the habits from the nuns next door (how bizarre does that sound?) for the show. Once you put on a nun's habit, EVERYONE treats you differently. Nobody wants to cuss in front of you, LOL. One of our "nuns" was a tarot card reader. You haven't seen surreal until you've seen a nun sitting there doing tarot readings. :p:

I was just in San Jose in May; I sometimes get out that way for client visits. Year before last, I actually made it up to Santa Cruz to go visit Cabrillo College, where my late father worked. Next time I head that way, I'll PM you.

Ohlone College! Yes, forgot abt Ohlone. Ca. N A Tribal name.Oh yes, I well know dear old Mission San Jose de Guadalupe is a replica. Still beautiful & well done replica of the 1797 Mission. Our family was @ the mission in 1797, so know most of the history. I do go up to San Jose whenever I can. 14th & East St. James St. & Santa Clara Cemetary. Thanks for the lunch offer techie :) but I have lunch in Los Gatos or @ Stanford.

OMG... *Sees videos in the sidebar to that one.* Does the Carousel of Progress really take over 20 minutes? It never felt that long.

LOL Why? Not much yuppie in a Cal M A grad now days. I love riff - raff. Adds fun twists to friendships. ;)

You mean The Bay Shore? Embarcadero confuses me. I just drive using landmarks. If I've been someplace once I can always find it again....except up Mt. Tam in Mill Valley.
