Wrong again. Shortly after 9/11 ALL liquids were banned from being taken on planes by passengers. I recall a story of a woman that was stopped by security becasue of her baby bottle full of formula. She had to dispose of the liquid and was only allowed the dry powder formula on the plane.

In the event that the airline had decided they, as a private company with the RIGHT to decide what does and does not go on the planes which are THEIR PROPERTY, had decided they did not want to let you take a bottle on, then you would have not been allowed to, and the Government would be under no obligation to make them, because it's not a Right.

See, here is where your getting your information crossed. Yes Delta is a private company, Yes they own the planes. But they are controlled by the FAA, (that's Federal Aviation Administration). The Government is the ones that said no liquids. Delta does NOT have the RIGHT or PRIVILEGE to say what is or is not allowed on their planes. You think the airline can just up one day and say "Ok today we now allow guns on our planes" NO! That is why these whiny people are trying to get the government involved with this peanut thing.

I know my rights. I'm very vocal about protecting them. For instance I have a Right Against Unlawful search and seizure, which is violated by our Government in the form of the Patriot Act.

THAT is loosing a right.

Not being able to take a baby bottle on a plane, is loss of a privilege.

Incorrect. Liquids cannot pass through security. They can be purchased in the secure area and taken onboard. These days they will let you bring some liquids through security. Baby formula being one of them. Dry formula is not a big deal. They have water on the plane, including hot water.

Actually any airline CAN restrict what you bring on, they just can't be less strict than the federal guidelines. I could use a GPS on other airlines, but American does not allow it.

Oh, you can put a gun in your checked luggage, just make sure you declare it.

That's exactly what I just said. No liquids. And they told the lady she COULD take the DRY formula on board but not already mixed in liquid form.
And the liquids they do let you bring on are VERY small amounts. like 3.4oz. So you can bring a small demo bottle of perfume, but not a bottle of coke.

wrong. Airlines have to pass EVERY rule and regulation through FAA first. So no they can not just make up their own rules. the fact that you got away with using a device on one air craft and not another is just luck. I flew from Orlando to NJ on Delta, The trip there I used my CD player, no problems. on the way back I was told I could not. Both trips were the same airline. it's just a matter of the staff.

I see no where in this entire thread were we are talking about checked luggage. The rules for checked luggage are totally different then for carry on.
