If a guest knows about "secret" things, things that aren't normally advertised but require either prior knowledge or knowing someone that actually works for WDW or DLR, as a CM does that change your opinion of that guest? Would that elevate that guest to either an annoyance or someone that is trying to take advantage of the system? I hope this question doesn't make me a Stupid Guest :p:
Speaking as a non-CM, I would suppose it would depend on the "secret". I would recommend asking before attempting to use a "secret" that would bend the rules, or by-pass a standard procedure, and if told "No, don't try that", don't.

Speaking for myself, every time I go to WDW, I don't really care to "see what I can get" when I go, I just go to have a good time, see the rides and attractions I love, maybe say HI to Mickey :) . But I just have to imagine having people try to get something for nothing, or something other people can't get must get really old, really quick. I was just curious if that changes a CM's opinion of a guest :)

I don't know if it works the same at WDW, but at DL the 2nd CM would be in the wrong. The first CM is to check the FP times and such, the 2nd is pretty much just supposed to take them. If they have a problem with the FP it should be brought up with the 1st CM, disagreements between CMs (whether one is clearly right or wrong or it's a gray area) should never involve the Guests. If I was the 2nd CM and I had a problem with the FP, I would let the Guests in and then talk to the 1st CM. It also eliminates the need for the Guest to explain themselves multiple times. CMs should be helping Guests and try and make their visit smoother, not causing more stress and problems.

Majority of guests don't though and don't understand that they can utilize the Fastpass any time after the return window for that day. This isn't explicitly spelled out for guests OR cast anywhere - just word of mouth. I've seen guests leave in the middle of non-moving attractions just to make their Fastpass window. Oddly enough when finding out an attraction does not offer Fastpass, decide it's not worth their time or deem that it could not be as good. Fastpass plays all kind of mind games with the stupid guests and it's just what Disney wants.
Sorry to rain on you're parade but Disney Paris does enforce the returning times.
The only passes that are free from that are the VIP passes with you get with a suite at the Disney Hotel.

For the record: A child is any one under the age of majority (aka 18 years of age). You are expected to be with said child at all times.

Any child found unattended will be attended to and our friends at OCSO will be contacting Children and Family Services at their discretion.

WDW is not a baby sitting service. WDW, while a magical place, is a privately owned and operated resort destination open to literally anyone in the world. Some bad people like to take vacations too ... sometimes it is a busman's holiday.

If the subject comes up I tell them we're not usually strict on the end time but some attractions are.

One can't ask for magic, it just happens. If you ask for it it isn't magical.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

Oh I was referring to park hopping. Interesting about Paris though and their decision to be stringent on the return window though. Do they bump up the number of Fastpasses distributed then in relation to what other parks offer?

Sorry I have really no idea. I just know that they can run out of fas passes.
But to be honest we never had that problem because we use the VIP passes and there is simply no restriction in the return window.
