I will admit....I brought a laptop on our last vaca.....BUT I needed it for work (yes, I do "working vacations"). That said, I had a Verizon card that I plugged in and used to get a Wi-Fi signal. If that had not worked, my company would have reimbursed me the $20/day for the Internet....they wanted me available at all times. I didn't mind too much...I got to read my email and check my bank account daily. The problems come when I'm in line an have to take a work call on my cell. I don't take the call then....I wait until I get off the ride and then find a quiet area. I can't tell you how many times I would call the person back within 30 minutes and get the "why didn't you answer your cell?" I don't know...maybe because I'm on VACATION!!!! (see, stupid people are everywhere....not just Disney)mapo wrote:Now, in resorts, I know that many guests that "cannot live without their internet fix" come to guest services/concierge. Most did not bring their laptop/netbook either. When told they have to go to a conference hotel and it is $25 for 15 minutes, they seem to adjust to their predicament quite quickly.
The laptop users also seemed to be taken back by the $19.95 for 24 hrs price when we introduced the service. Most just passed and seemed to find other things to do as well.
These prices are about 4 years old. But you get the idea.
This could be very interesting...at what cost will these smartphone people decide to not use the lil app? Hmmmm.....
MAPO
And, MAPO, the price is right on (well, at least as of October 2, 2009). :)
