I had the same reaction when my Japanese instructor first said "ah-so!"

Take a good look at UCF.

I decided to fly up to visit my family before my classes start on Tuesday.

I signed up for 2 classes - Organizational Leadership & Corporate Analysis. Here's the descriptions from the CP website:

Corporate Analysis - This course provides an in-depth look at The Walt Disney Company and covers a variety of topics including productivity, corporate culture and diversity & inclusion.

Organizational Leadership - This course analyzes the universal principles of leadership theory and their application within a personal and corporate environment. Instruction is designed to build repeatable and transferable leadership knowledge and skills.

Both sound like a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I don't think my school back home will accept the credits. But that's not what I'm on the CP for...I'm NOT there to make a ton money and I'm NOT there to get college credit, even though both would be very nice.

I'm actually checking out the schools and I'm considering staying with the company. I absolutely love CT and I always will...but I think that there are more opportunities for me at a company like Disney.

Talk to you all soon!

I took Corporate Analysis during my CP, fun course. Most of the information is stuff you already knew if you're a keen observer of TWDC, but it's still a good overview.

And if you got the same facilitator I had (whose initials are DI, I'll stop there), you'll very much enjoy the course. She's great :D: .

You know, I was convinced of the same.

Until I was talking to friends back home on the telephone and they pointed out that I was saying "y'all" in nearly every sentence. And then looked in my refrigirator where I had two gallon jugs of sweet tea that I bought at Publix the other day.

The South does not end at Ocala, it seems, lol.

Or if you're still in your Freshman or Sophomore year, try one of the local Community Colleges. I was going to go to UCF...until I realised that four years of Out of State rate (~$20k per year) was absolutely ridiculous. I go to Valencia and am planning to transfer, which makes much more sense economically.

One of the schools I'm looking at and leaning towards.

Monorail_Red wrote: So while we are at the bus stops we have a few jobs we have to do. We keep track of the bus intervals…the bus #, the time it arrived, and its destination. If they are running behind, we radio in to our coordinator. We also do crowd control when necessary like when a driver has to load an ECV or wheelchair. We also entertain the guests while they are waiting for their bus. So if you are ever at a resort bus stop and you see one of us, we’re there to help pass the time by while you are waiting for your bus.
I guess times have changed - when I was on my CP in resorts, that role was handled by front office Cast Members. At CBR, two of us would be scheduled 7:00 - 11:00am at the bus stops....one of us at the Barbados stop and the other down in Trinidad South --- with the same responsibilities as you described. Back then it was called "Magic on Demand"....or as we lovingly renamed it, "Tragic on Demand" (since we were often the first line of attack when folks were anxious to get to their early morning character breakfast). After our shift doing Tragic, we'd either spend the rest of our shift as front desk runner or a few hours on the desk. Makes sense that this role is now handled by Transportation.

Best of luck on your CP - hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed mine!!

It's still handled by Resorts at some places. I picked up a MoD shift over at Pop once a few months ago.

Twas an Interesting experience. It was the first day of Free Dining (you can see where I'm going with this already?), and no less than 1 minute after I wheeled my little info cart out did I get pounced upon by some wild-eyed female Guest who demanded that I do something because those "**** ** ****** at the Front Desk" took too long to check her in and now she was going to be late to her Tusker House ADR at DAK.

Thank goodness there was a Transportation Coordinator over there who decided to have pity on poor little Food & Beverage CM me and intervened, lol.

My husband, who does training for our company in various cities around the country, always makes sure to work in plenty of y'alls and fix'in tos just for entertainment value.

Yup, still called Magic on Demand and its still screwed up.

Worked my first morning shift in over a year on Saturday and I still could not believe how screwed up it still is. You would think after 3+ years that someone would figure it out.

Cran, your post made me laugh so hard. Of course it's all screwed up. Never fixed. WDW or DLR doesn't matter - everything is all screwed up. Common trait & as CMs know, TID. :banghead:

I had a similar experience doing MoD with a completely opposite ending. I had a guest and her family getting very antsy that they wouldn't make their Cindy's ADR and were pretty much freaking out in front of me. I spieled the whole "buses come approx every 20 minutes" but also said I'd be happy to radio in to see how soon we could expect an MK bus, and proceeded to step a couple feet away to call in.

I hadn't even opened my mouth when coincidentally, a MK bus come rolling up at that very moment. Said Guest waved and profusely thanked me for getting "her" bus here so quickly. All I could do was tell her it was my pleasure and hold in a very large chuckle until the bus stop was clear of guests :D:
