Maybe Wombat knows (about the Law Degree, silly!:p :)
I think is some kinda religious deal. Here's something interesting about the loving couple from Wikipedia:

On May 22, 2006, People magazine reported that Wilbanks (bride) and Mason (virgin) had officially called off their engagement.

According to the BBC, Jennifer Wilbanks sold the media rights to her story to a New York firm for $500,000.[6] She did not offer to repay the whole cost of the search, totaling almost $43,000.

In September 2006, Wilbanks filed a lawsuit against her ex-fiancé, claiming that while she was hospitalized and under medication, she granted Mason power of attorney to negotiate the sale of the couple's story to a publisher in New York. According to her, Mason struck a deal for $500,000 and used the money to buy a house (in his name only), from which he later evicted Wilbanks. She claimed as damages $250,000 as her share of the house, and another $250,000 in punitive damages. Mason counter sued, claiming emotional distress from being left at the altar. In December 2006, both parties dropped their respective suits.[7]

That cheatin' virgin done screwed her outta some real bucks. :D:

You are right, SG is not the right term for this. I remember when Javier (the entertainer) died. I was trained in that parade the following year and many of my friends in entertainment knew Javier or were even trained by him. He was well loved. One day I went to watch the parade as a guest so I could see my friends and also just watch the performances. This girl beside me started banging on about how her friend watched Pluto get run over. I was absolutely astounded that a.) the girl would even bring it up right there in the park and b.) her friend decided to make herself sound cool by lying about seeing a man get killed. I informed her that no guest saw it, it was backstage. I'm just glad she said it to me and not one of the people who knew Javier. I was in attractions when it happened and it saddened me that we lost a CM, but I never had that personal connection. Those who knew him still grieve, I can remember even three years later seeing my entertainment friends with a special pin that was made in his memory. I can't imagine the pain it would bring on if she had said something to one of them.

Everytime I hear people talk about the sitting up front, this incident reminds me why it's not happening right now. People don't think before they open their yaps. This must be such a difficult time at the resort for all the monorail pilots. My thoughts are with you.

Thank you for putting her in her place, I would have loved to see that twat's reaction when you told her off. How can she BRAG about watching a person die?
What was her reaction like???? I hope you embarrassed her bits right there.

Oh, when a guest referred to Austin as winning a Darwin Award talking to one of our CM's on this site, it is my understanding he almost got decked. Wish he had.

We are returning to our new normal, in our new reality. We really do have an awesome team, and great managers.

In fact, I have had people tell me how they thought heads should and are going to roll. I agree that some are and a few already have... but every head belongs to a good person... even those most closely responsible for what happened. Being a department of Disney, we hear rumors daily that I hope do not come to fruition, and others that I hope will, such as more DOT regulation. Time will tell. But anything you hear from anyone is merely speculation. And what you hear, I don't want to hear, because I get enough as it is.

Along with the creeps that I started this thread talking about, there are those who come up, grasp us in a handshake, and solemnly give their condolences, and walk on. It has become such that you can almost tell when someone has been a part of something like this before.

I have decided that the next time a local news anchor dies, I am going to do something special. I am going to go harass them like they've done it to us, asking them questions about the person who died, if they feel responsible, what they might have done to contribute, do they think they're going to get a promotion, etc. Bonus points if I can get a local anchor to cry on camera as they've tried so hard to do with Monorail Pilots and management.

But the thing I've really had to do for the sake of my own perspective is look at the opposite end of the spectrum. I love when someone just doesn't know anything, and you know I am not going to do anything to ruin that for them. But to get the people who just encourage us, give us a pat on the back without a word... those who thank us for what we do... that goes so far right now, so far beyond what it normally does.

And to know that when I am driving a Monorail, I still cause happiness just by showing up.

I love being a Walt Disney World Monorail Pilot.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

And I want to see that tape. Bonus points if you can get David Koenig to cry.

You've gotta be shitting me. Some SG actually said this? Decking isn't good enough. Drown the bastard in Small World so that song is the last thing they ever hear as they die.

I hate to say it, but Orlando news is 1000% worse than Chicago. It always amazed me that after the infamous Lane Bryant murders a couple years ago(which occurred within walking distance of my old home), the name of the surviving woman was never, ever revealed. The Orlando assholes would have splashed it all over the airwaves in minutes, and she wouldn't have had to worry about the killer coming back after her...he never would have been able to get near her with the news jackals so thick around her and her family.

 That is HORRIBLE!! I'm sorry, but decking would have been too good for him.

I'm glad things are getting better though, BW. :)

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!
