Re: glendalais's BIG Move (Part II)
I've just finished my last DLR shift! I am no longer a Disneyland Resort Cast Member!
It's a bit sad, I'll admit I was a little bit sentimental walking out of Harbor Pointe for the last time. But I am excited to set out on this new journey and am interested to see where it will take me :D: .
And I've just received word that the formal transfer has occured as of 12:00 A.M. EDT this morning. So I guess I can now reveal where I'll be working (though I and a few others have known for a while).
I'll be at the ABC Commissary, located at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Again, please don't forget the ADR at Boma on Thursday. PM me if you're interested in coming.
And I've also just received my Training schedule. Per it, I will be available on both Sunday and Monday of next week (24-25 May). If you want to meet up then, please PM me as well. I'll have my WDW Cast ID by then, so if you want to meet up in a Park, that's perfectly good.
I will probably be investigating this "Star Wars Weekends" that's apparently very popular at DHS. As a Trekkie, I find the idea that people can enjoy a weekend of non-stop Star Wars....interesting.

Universal? Just apply, honey. You'll get in... :)glendalais wrote:Here's a completely unrelated question.
After my programme ends, I'm thinking of applying for a Full Time position.
However, with the economy the way it is (though it seems to be showing faint signs of getting better *crosses arms/legs/feet/toes, proceeds to fall off chair*), WDW is only hiring CRs off a waiting list.
Assuming the economy doesn't improve by January, if I somehow get a CR position, could I pick up another PT position at say....Universal *shivers*? I know that tends to be somewhat frowned upon here at the DLR with CMs being employed at KBF at the same time.
Also, what are Universal's PT requirements?
I could also try for CT status, just so I can maintain my status with the company long enough to get back home and reapply at DLR.
I'm not a tourist cause I work there...

Congratulations, Glendalais - you're on your way!
Sorry we missed you at DL, but we're looking forward to meeting you in November. Wish we could be there for the meet at Boma (my favorite restaurant). Hope you enjoy your new job.

Have a safe trip and best of luck on your CP!
I'm curious - as a DLR transfer, are they requiring you to attend Traditions prior to your on the job training?

I wish I could do Boma. Hey, if you want to help me move my new TV, you can come over to my place. Having a few people over to help, and I'm gonna cook.
I'll be looking for you at the Commissary...

Yep. I have to do Traditions again this Friday. Someone called me to explain the process and actually apologized for making me sit through it again, lol.Ho-say wrote:Have a safe trip and best of luck on your CP!

Though, apparently, the CP Traditions class doesn't include the long and monotone discussion on the importance of observing TWDC Policies while doing Company Business abroad that I had to sit through at DLR, so that's a plus.
It certainly doesn't help the whole "bored beyond belief" part that I'm one of the few DLR Cast Members to be formally trained on the Disney Service/Leader Basics (aka the basics, it's a long story).
Sure. Don't have a car though. Mind sending Monorail Blue over to pick me up ;) ?Big Wallaby wrote:I wish I could do Boma. Hey, if you want to help me move my new TV, you can come over to my place. Having a few people over to help, and I'm gonna cook.

(But really, if it jives with my schedule, I'd love to, PM me)

Too bad I never saw you working when you were in foods at DLR, it would be fun to be say to another guest at the ABC Com., "Man, Disney is hard on these cast members, this is the exact same guy that helped me with food at DL!"
Hope we can run into you next month!

Well, I'm here, and I picked just the perfect time to arrive in the Sunshine State....
It's raining cats and dogs here, and parts of the Central Florida region are flooded beyond all belief.
If it's like this now. I fear for Hurricane season....

Anyone meeting you at boma? If anyone else is, I can go. What time is the ADR? (I might already be putzing around down there chasing casting people)
