This post made me think of Loud-ass Cell Phone Woman in Jiko (I detailed her conversation about pissing like a racehorse in another thread). We heard every cell call she made in detail...heck, I think the whole restaurant did. One of the things she talked about was how great it was that she could give her GAC to her family so they could use it while she hung out at the hotel. She told whoever she was talking to that she loved being able to do that for them so they could go ahead of everyone and never worry about lines in the summer, and it was great that she didn't even have to be with them.

I have seen kids as young as 3 use a power wheel chair or ECV at school and they are quite good at it. The PT department makes sure of that.
Well, certainly they should use it if it was meant for them. I'm talking about the ones who think that Grandma's ECV is a toy and hop on for fun with questionable prior experience/maturity and proceed to run over someone.
One of my favorite stories came from a nursing student I worked with whose daughter was confined to a wheelchair. she and I were talking about how Special Needs students often get tortured by the Neurotypical kids. Apparently, one rotten little kid liked to verbally abuse her daughter until one day, her daughter used her skills with her electric wheelchair to pin the little jerk to the wall, not hurting him but making him cry! Little Timmy's mom was very upset at this, and demanded an apology from the girl's mom. NO WAY!
Of course, the disabled little girl got "in trouble" But sometimes it is worth it! ;)

Why wait in the normal line when you can cut from the Everest singles line to the front row line?
Idiots.

I have seen families dart through the forward through the train exit in New Orleans. I also have seen security and train cast members turn the SG around and make them walk into the main line. :)

Allthough I spent the better part of the last few months before our vacation reminding the kids they were not allowed to injure themselves before we went to Disney. (Please refer back to the condom on my step daughter's arm for an entire summer of swimming post I made some time ago)

I ended up with a bummed out knee a week or so before vacation and for the first 3 days of the vacation. It was hard to walk on it all day and at the end of each day my knee would swell.

To tell the truth it would probablly have been better to get a ECV, but I somehow felt embarrased at the mere thought of doing so because... well with a knee brace, I COULD still walk, slow and with a slight limp, but it didn't immobilize me completely, instead I resorted to rigorous hot/cold treatment overnight, sleeping with my foot on a pile of pillows and pain killers. 3 days later I was all better!!!

By the way... if you live in Canada you want to take pain killers with you even if you don't think you will need them. :p: Our pain killers are stronger :p:

As far as telling the kids we wouldn't wait in line for character autographs & pictures, that was probably us. BUT we did all the parks in 4 days and used our last day to:

A) Everyone got to pick a favorite ride, we park hopped and rode that one last time.
B) We went to all the character lines on the last day, so the kids DID get their character hugs, autographs and pics

 Wow! Have I been away that long? Interesting discussion.

Just to comment on some post:
You can't tell the truth over there. When I first posted there, I did about an encounter with an SG and was taken to task for calling him ..err Stupid... to his face!
Oh I didn't post in board X (I realized immediately) I just stupidily went and browse thru the board. BAD IDEA... Lesson learned.
Because of GAC abuse from some families, are CMs getting jaded toward the whole GAC system? I have two coming to WDW on the autistic spectrum but we only get one GAC card because only one twin really needs it and we stay together. I would hate to think a CM is thinking "great, here's another one" as we hand him our card because we're definitely not abusing it but others who are are making us all look bad. Is it getting that bad? Does anyone think that the rest of our family is getting away with something because we have the card? God knows, I would gladly trade the card for normalcy for my son. I'm upset by the fact that some people are using the system that we need desperately. Without that card, there are no rides for my son this December.
Just in case let me make myself clear. I don't think bad of people who used the card the way it's supposed to be. Not only is the benefit there to help you, it is there because you obviously needed. I don't mind families that use it and don't abuse it. I do mind people who abuse it.

Maybe I'm weird but the incident I'm talking about had 18, 18 people using the GAC and the person who had the card wasn't taking pictures, wasn't doing absolutely doing anything with the characters. In fact they went in and then went out the exit. Now maybe I'm getting it wrong but to me that sounds like abuse. Then because to put the cheery on top they were a very rude bunch. Really hard to deal with, and at one point we had to take a character off set because of the kids hitting him.

The benefit is there for people who needed and I want them to use it, but any sort of abuse put smoke out of my ears.
And this is another problem: I thought NO one was supposed to be on the scooters except the disabled person, but I see small kids on the laps of the driver ALLTHE TIME and no one does anything about it. I would hate to get run over by a kid driving one of these.
Oh I saw this twice today! A kid is on a scooter and this CM calls at the man on the scooter. She repeats "Sir" I swear like 10 times, the guy keeps on ridding. She tells the woman that was on behind them, who was his wife, I guess. She goes 'Yeah, ok" but keeps on walking. Further on she tells the man ( who's still ridding with the kid on the ECV) and he responds to her "Yeah right, I bet if I was a black person she wouldn't say shit." I swear I was soooooo tempted to ask 'Excuse me, but what does skin color has to do with the safety of your grandchild?' but I didn't feel like fighting and besides I didn't want to give a lunch break late, I know what is like to be hungry. However I don't get it, I have seen managers and CM ask people from every place on the globe and from every skin color ask people not to let more than one person in the ECV. I swear that man confused me.

The second time the man actually told the CM to "Shut up!" and kept on going, lol. She looked back at me like she couldn't believe what she was hearing. So what to do? Honestly, I think that's something that the managers will eventually going to have to start to handle personally; because from what I seen, people have no respect when CM tell them. On the contrary they threaten to 'Have your job', then they wonder why their children turn out so spoiled. Really? you don't know... :shaker:
Why wait in the normal line when you can cut from the Everest singles line to the front row line?
Idiots.
Ouch! Why is it that people can't wait in line? I mean honestly it is not that hard. How can they honestly come to Disney and expect to do no line? Why don't they bring some portable video games or something to do. Why the hell don't they talk with each other or with other people? I find amazing that this people are the same that moan about their children being impatient, but what can you expect, they take their patience from you.

Maybe it's me but it seems as if somehow this past summer we got the rudest guest ever in my history with Disney. Did I get the rude guest and you all got the good ones? Dang, and make note I try to be really nice; I do still somehow, and in a twisted sort of way, enjoy my job.

Don't leave us hanging! Tell us the story about the rudest guest ever!

These people should do a little research before going to Disney World because anyone who actually plans these things ahead of time knows the best place to see characters is actually Epcot because the lines are so much shorter there.

I went to Walt Disney World last month. I know that EPCOT has not much areas for characters, MK is crowded, AK has hidden areas, the studios have hidden areas and sometimes they are seriously long. Go to Disneyland and all areas have long lines.
