Re: Virtual Monorail, or How I'm Spending My Summer Vacation...
Very cool video. I saw two small issues though (heard one actually). First, the "Please stand clear of the doors" spiel is done just before the doors close, not as the train is pulling into the station. Second, it looks to me that the control panel is the old style, not the new style.
Oh, and one more thing, the stations drive me nuts. The look to much like standard commuter stations and not monorail stations. The MK station is one of the worst, your version is missing two of the platforms.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

Amusing watching people "teleport" into the trains--they're standing on the platform one moment, disappear, then you see them in the train! Cool doors on the trains, though. BTW what are those little green lights on the tracks that appear on the console when the train runs over them?

Thanks for all of the great comments!! As for the inaccuracies, trust me, I know they're there. The stations especially, and the sounds, were done by others. I plan on eventually creating the actual stations -- once I learn how! -- and adding in other spiel audio if possible.
This will probably be one of those grand projects that I'm never completely satisfied with. I can see myself in ten years returning from a trip to WDW and saying things like, "That shrub needs to be seven inches to the left," or "The paint should have a touch more green in it."
:)

Yup, you'll be coming to Disney World and interrogating me up one side and down the other. I was thinking, what I should do is get you three videos... One with a front view, one left and one right.

I will get that for you next week on my day off. Of course, getting it all to you afterward should be very interesting.
I might do one round at a time. Otherwise, it would literally take all day.
Which line would you like to see first?

I don't have a preference. Right now I'm busy trying to learn how to build an operable station -- I can build a station that looks real, but getting it to function adds an additional layer of necessary knowledge -- so whenever you can get them is fine. Obviously, if we can transfer the vids over the internet that would be fastest, but if it turns out to be easier to just burn them to CD-ROM or DVD and mail them, I'll pay the expenses.Big Wallaby wrote:I will get that for you next week on my day off.
