We thought we saw a few pair of lovebugs in the MK as we were getting ready to head home on Wednesday= then when the towncar guy picked us up at the resort, his windshield had the telltale splotches, and he confirmed that yes, that was what had caused them. . .

Ahh the love bugs.

The first time we ever saw them was a few years ago. My sister and I had a name for them.....not LOVE bugs, but more descriptive of what they were actually doing.

I called her and told her when I came home and found out they are actually called "love" bugs.

But I have a feeling love has nothing to do with it. Trampy little critters. :D:

They like light colors, so we dress the kids in navy alot during their seasons.

Took Gidget to the vet this morning for her annual immunizations, and when we came home and unloaded, I noticed 2 pairs of lovebugs drifting around the horse trailer. The invasion has begun. Tomorrow there will be 8 pairs, the next day 128, and on it goes for the next few weeks. Ack!

You've got a windshield on your Harley? I thought hawg riders wore bugs in their teeth as a badge of honor. Kinda defeats the outlaw image doesn't it?

That works for normal bugs. But with the corrosive nature of the Love Bugs leavings, if you continued with the "bugs in the teeth" concept durring Love Bug season you might end up with no teeth (and possibly no lips).

That explains a lot of outlaw biker's dental condition.

I would also think that they would leave a bit of bad "aftertaste", so much so that you would need something with alcohol in it to kill the germs....Hmmmmm that sounds like a call for RUM!!!

I don't think that even RUM will kill the taste of those nasty critters.
