LOL, that day was pretty hectic but I think I remember seeing you. But at that point I think the fact I was working a double on New Year's was getting to me. LOL! But I did work SWIRL front doors a couple of times that day.

I am hard to miss, as Zazu and Wallaby can confirm. Sorry I didn't know it was you, otherwise I would've stopped and said "hi!"

I hope this isn't rude to ask, but... what exactly does the CM standing at the door to the Land do? I mean, I presume answer questions, but it's not like there are any options for different paths people can take at that point -- either "in" or "not in." Do you stand there and say "Yes, this is the way to Soarin'" three thousand times in a row? I'm honestly curious.

LOL, it depends on the exact position. If it is Front Doors Entrance/Front Doors Exit, they mostly just answer the Soarin' question and fight about strollers. We also put out the signs when FPs are gone for Soarin' (Yeah, that makes us REAL popular) and we keep updated on the wait time because that's all they care about in the building. We point towards the elevator and give the same directions to Soarin' (Downstairs, on left, under the sign that says Soarin'!)
If we are doing SWIRL then it is a whole different story. We have stanchions set up so that the two doors on the right are in, and the one on the left is out. We make sure people go in the right, circle around, go down the stairs. Then people have to come upstairs on the the other side, and circle around to exit door. People fight us all the time, but we are generally pretty good about laying the smack down... ;)

Is that Kitchen attraction the one that used the song "Food Rocks!" It was a take off on a LOT of different rock songs with healthy veggie lyrics! :) They play that song on Mouse World Radio all the time.

Nope. Kitchen Kabaret was in the same space prior to Food Rocks. It's big hit was "Veggie, Fruit, Fruit". Personally I preferred KK over Rocks.

I also pay the extra for the extra live365 stations. My current "favorites" includes 9 Disney Parks presets (I think, I'm not looking at it at the moment). Mouseworld has 3 different Disney Parks music stations, and one other I like alot is D-Magic. Unfortunately I always listen durring the same part of the day, and these stations change their daily playlist so rarely, sometimes the shows get a bit repetative. There for a while I could actually tell the time by what song was playing. But Even with this there are so many Disney Parks music stations listening is a great way to calm down when I'm having a rough night at work.

See! You never get the good positions for three hours running. Like Launch Director? Though once I did get Circle of life for three hours during a downtime. Sometimes it is worth it to have rotation stopped. LOL! I love getting dispatch, even though it is repetitive (Gates Auto Open, Close Gates, Advance Boat, Repeat), just on the outside chance something goes wrong and you have to make the decisions. It's fun to be in charge! A good friend of mine from the Land used to work over at MS and she said besides the protein spills it was really fun.

my favorite was tower at M:S. One time I pulled tower roto, got bumped outside, just to have someone doublebump me back into tower. It was fun. But Launch Director is my second favorite position. I need to get back down there, soon.

I LOVED Kitchen Kabaret. I have a small insulated lunchbag with all the characters on it that Igot on my first trip to Epcot in 1985. It cost all of $2. It would probably cost $12 today.
I wanted a plush of the pineapple in the "Veggie,Fruit,Fruit" sequence,but there wasn't one available when I was there.

Some of my favorite memories are the spiels that go slightly off script (or even official scripts that poke fun at themself). I know I have talked about the CM at Carrousel of Progress that had (almost) and entire crowd fumbling for non existant seat belts, and later informed us that our seat cushions could be used a floatation device if we have to ditch in water.

I had one of those witty CMs at the Carousel of Progress make our group crack up. It started with the 3D glasses joke, then the seatbelts. Then it led into "During the show, the theater will spin, turn upside down and fill with water." :)

I've had bus drivers during unload use "the bus and the sidewalk are moving at equal speeds".

But I think the all-time jaw-dropping-est off-script line came on the Jungle Cruise. We were on a boat with just one very small child, so it went WAAAYYY over his head. Approaching one of the first scenes on the abandoned camp, the guide started it with "And up ahead we have the camp of the friendly Fugowee tribe. They said they were going to meet us at the river." Then when we arrived at the camp, the guide shouted "Hey! Where're the Fugowee?!????" (say it out loud if you don't get it)

My friend's and my jaws just utterly dropped...

Yeah, they do repeat a LOT. I wrote the guy at Mouse World and he said he felt their play list was extensive! Maybe, but when you play ONLY a few of the cuts on your EXTENSIVE playlist, it does get boring and repetitive. I am the ultimate channel changer! If I start hearing the same cuts over and over, I click away. They do play Laughing Place a LOT. That one can get on my one nerve that is left.

Still, overall, the stations are varied enough that you will always hear something different on each of them. Mouse World used to have 3 other stations as well, Mouse World x and 2 others. They aren't there anymore. I have about 15 stations on my favorites list. A few non-Disney ones, like comedy and a few oldies stations. I enjoy Live365. I think it is well worth the price. BUT, it is one of the reasons I lost my radio job! Computers and radios! Ughhhhhhhhhh....

Well FIRST, that is a VERY old joke, and "B", I can't believe that he would do that one, which is a little "risque" at best.

I also found out the hard way, that even if little kids don't know the meaning, the sure make great "parrots"

Ah CDS, how I loathed thee. I will never forget the day I got sent to Dumbo LongWalk three times in a row! I went to long walk, got a break, went back to long walk, had to fill out an incident report, back to long walk, rotation bump to CDS, back to long walk! As it was in the height of summer, our Coordinator had somebody else relieve me of the position.

If you want to hear about real fun, talk to Entertainment people about Work Brain. That system is an absolute nightmare. I hear it works great for most areas, but it caused nothing but headaches for entertainment when we switched over from ETR. (I don't know if they've worked out the kinks yet or not, hopefully they've been able to beat it into submission.)
