"Take a stab at" means "try" thus Zazu was saying "Maybe sometime you should try something else."

I think that is what Zazu was saying and am pretty sure I am right.

It was for Wallaby who that the joke was over everyone's heads. if you have been around Zazu long enough then you can understand his jokes.

I was responding to the fact that no one responded to what I thought was a very good joke. Had a good, right and proper belly laugh, even.
