"Take a stab at" means "try" thus Zazu was saying "Maybe sometime you should try something else."

I think that is what Zazu was saying and am pretty sure I am right.

This reminds me of the episode of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" when both Colin Mochrie & Wayne Brady had not-so-obscure Shakespeare references go over the heads of the audience. It was for Wallaby who that the joke was over everyone's heads. if you have been around Zazu long enough then you can understand his jokes.
