Official SGT ADD thread

At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

The cat box needed cleaning when I left for work. I came home to the dog in the front room and the cat box no longer needing cleaning. Ms. Buttercup is going to be outside for a while.

Ahhhh,Home Health Care! A job I loved, except for the ridiculous amount of paperwork and unpaid hours doing the same. Because of billing fraud, Medicare requires the HH agency to cover their butts a thousand times,or face inquiries. In order to stay afloat, there is a code of,"we'll give you a 12 hour workday to perform in 8,if you can't get it done,we'll blame it on you". Very dysfunctionalDarksin wrote:It wasn't a theme park, although I can tell you my indentured service time working for theme parks was far more enjoyable then my last job! I'd rather work at a park then ever deal with the endless drama, chaos and total joke of a company this last job was!
Thank god, now my phone won't ring 1-4 times per day (while I'm sleeping since I'm on night shift) to "Pick up" extra work. They are so bad, let me give you a minor list of complaints!
-They are understaffed since they can't keep any new people. The pay is crap, my new starting pay is higher then my 3 years of raises all togther. The office staff rotates constantly, in 3 years we've had: 2 Directors, 2 Field Supervisors and 7 Schedulers. They'll over-work and burn you out, if they can't get you to over-work they'll harasses you non-stop (1-4 times per day "Will you pick up? No! Twenty minutes later cause you MIGHT have changed your mind this repeats.) They ignore the fact your on vacation and call you to work (Sure, if your gonna buy my plane ticket, pay for the rental car, pay for me to work for two hours and my plane ticket back!). If your sick and have a doctors note saying "No, she's SICK and needs X days off to stop being contagious" they will ignore it and then wonder why you didn't report for a shift. None of the office staff can read at all, you give them a copy of your college class schedule and they will always call you while your in class to pick up shifts also while your in class.
That's just a small piece of what I've dealt with. I could rant for hours over the crap they've pulled.
This is home healthcare company in Western PA.
I've never been so glad in my entire life to turn in notice! Suppressing the will to just immediately resign was very hard, I could use a few days off since I haven't had one in two weeks.
Thanks everyone, it's nice to know I'm free as of next Wednesday!

Nurses are expected to change jobs, do not settle for less than you deserve.

Oh nurses have the some of the best SGT stories ever, I mean the stupid they have can make the theme parks look mild in comparison. A bunch of my cousins are nurses and I tell you, give them a few beers and get ready because when the stories start your going to be howling with laughter.
:hysteria:
Another fun group to listen to is airline workers, they get a special brand of SG all their own. I can't tell you how hard I would laugh when my mom and her friends would start ranting! My mom would walk in the door and hussle over to me and it always started the same way "Wait till you hear about THIS idiot today!". She always had great stories before she retired, even after she moved out of the public view downstairs she'd come home with "I heard this and had to go see for myself!"stories.
As for the question, my new job is exactly like the old. Home Healthcare just with a much more professional group, I expect far less drama from them! :D:

My X was a nurse and she once told me the story of an older man in the hospital that someone noticed was having a swelling in the general area of Mr. Happy. They called in a number of nurses to see if they could figure out what was causing the swelling. After being probed by a number of ladies it finally occurred to one of them what might be the problem. So they all just casually left the room and a miracle happened... the swelling went away.
That story never failed to amuse me!

This is why it is great to have male nurses around.... ;)Goofyernmost wrote:My X was a nurse and she once told me the story of an older man in the hospital that someone noticed was having a swelling in the general area of Mr. Happy. So let me get this straight. Idiots can figure this out... I mean, you see the results of them using the fact they know what the swelling is when Timmy and Tammy come to play, but a room full of educated, intelligent nurses took a while to figure it out.Goofyernmost wrote:They called in a number of nurses to see if they could figure out what was causing the swelling. Tell me none of them (except maybe the one who did figure it out) had chillins. Don't make me ask again.
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Re: Official SGT ADD thread
Funny thing...I asked the same question...one of them...my wife had reason to be able to recognition the situation (no further details will be forthcoming). She just said, that they weren't expecting anything from a physically sick old man so it never entered their minds what the obvious answer was. They thought he was having some type of allergic reaction to something. Finally someone, my wife never said which one, so I am assuming it wasn't her, had an epiphany and it turned out to be a correct one. Just goes to show you that sick old men can still be sick old men. Long live sick old men! :twisted:Big Wallaby wrote: So let me get this straight. Idiots can figure this out...
