At least you guys get to close before we do. Technically. I work merch, and on the rare occasion that I'm in Tower, even after the ride clears, we don't necessarily get to begin close out. There's always the one random person who needs to make absolutely sure that there is nothing on the shelves that they, or any other person in their extended family, may want as a souvenir.
Speaking of "we're closed" stories, I was working a Grad Nite Blast Off at Tower, and some kids evidently thought Greetings was still open because the lights were on. Our manager gets a call from security that a group of about a dozen high school kids had pulled on the doors to Bear (Which are the hardest to get to lock properly apparently) and had gone into the store...with no cast members in there. 'The lights are on, but nobody's home' applied in more than case that night.

Yea, we close those gates at the closing time. We always have poll for how many pictures get protected on grad nights. Good times.

Lol. I saw that last time. One of the attractions leads came in and asked merch if we wanted in on the poll. It was kinda funny. I think we got a page or two filled back in the edit room. At least 15 to 20 of them (protected pictures) the night I was there.

So, I had this woman last night come up to book after we're closed, fireworks were basically at closing so we're closed before they end but we still have a line cause we don't run boats during the fireworks. She asks if we're open (mind you there's a trash can in the entrance and a chain going across it, with me standing right in front) and I say no, then she stands there for a while and decides to do the plead thing. Please can't you just let one more. I say no we've been closed for over 5 minutes. (The Leann Rimes song is already done at this point) She waits again, then sees people on a boat and says, but they're on it. I look over my shoulder cause last I checked there was still one group in line, I think she's talking about them, but nope just a boat pulling up to the dock to unload. So, I tell her they're finishing the ride and are about to get off. and then she waits some more and finally leaves, by the time she left Matterhorn Way was reopened. Sprinkled throughout this conversation I kept telling her everything is closed and the park closed at 9, blah, blah, blah. Oh yeah, she also kept looking at her kid like I was gonna have sympathy or something.

We had a wheelchair party come in several minutes after we closed at Pirates, and I told them it was closed. They begged and pleaded, of course, about "just one more."
I replied, "uh, you know these boats aren't coming back, so if I were to let you on you'd be spending the night in the attraction." Well, not technically true since facilities comes at night, but still it wouldn't be a terribly fun ride.
We did once allow a group of Screamin' CM's on the attraction after closing -- they were going to be taken on a walk-through of the backstage area of the attraction -- and we had to tell them that about 2/3rds of the way through, the worklights would all be turned on and the boats would be moving veeeeeeery slowly as custodial had to come and clean all the boats in the station.

my co-worker told me about this
They had closed fool scoops (ice cream) for the night and about 10 minutes after the doors were locked there was a group outside banging on the windows, my co-workers told them to go away and they try to do the puppy face thing, which is so pathetic and makes them look really dumb. When one of my co-workers went outside to clean the tables the people tried to sneak by and she blocked their way and yelled "no, we're closed" in a heavy french accent (she's from paris and is really nice)
mind you this was after grounds did their "sweep" to push everyone to the front
"Some days it takes all you've got just to keep up with the losers."

i work at an airline. when ever i go to take my break, lunch or leave for the day and there is a long line, guests all mad at me. it is like come on i know you have problems and have been waiting a while to see someone, but when i need to leave i need to leave! especially when my shift if up. it is not like america west is going to pay me for the overtime! so don't swear at me for leaving! also we always get people who seem to think airlines flight 24 a day. we had this women furious why she couldn't get a flight out at 2am. um us and all the other airlines stop at 11pm. sorry we don't run around the clock. sorry you couldn't get a flight for the 16hours that we did have flights! people are just so dumb. at disneyland i would see people get all angry because the attraction closed. disneyland is not a 24 themepark. if you want to do something for 24hours. go to wallmart!

I remember that night. I was the one who set up the walk-thru with one of my managers. It was a prize thing for the cm that got to go. Thanks for letting us ride and for giving us the walk-thru. It was good times.

Ah yes, so you probably remember hearing my voice on the PA when you were in the boat...
"Don't worry, guys, we'll get you up here. Just sit back for now."
