That, and that most people cannot stand on a thin piece of steel (rung) for long periods of time (without the right shoes/boots), and older guys worry about strokes and heart attacks.
When I was climbing I wore Red Wing boots that had a piece of steel in the sole that ran from the heel to the toe. Very comfortable.

Although I do not climb for a living, I do have a pair. Good investment.

These are like the ones
I wore way back when. Mine were black. I paid $50. Current MSRP is $434.99.

That sounds like the stories my dad would tell about the price of a Corvette when he was a teenager. $2600 for one that would be worth $75000 today. I ask him all the time what it was like when dirt was new.

I could have picked up a brand new Shelby 427 Cobra off the showroom floor for $7000 in '66. Today's price for a real one is in the million$.

Good thing you didn't. As someone said after a test drive, "I hadn't even put it in gear and it was killing people!!!"

Zero to 100 mph and back to zero in 13.5 seconds. I'd take a chance.

I'm going to wager that there would be a smile on that face as well while doing so.

Oh come on, people. He's been all over the news lately. Do *none* of you recognize this quote? Are none of you able to pick up on a straight line like that?
