When I was in store ops, he was forbidden from entering certain stores because of his harassing certain females. Security should just pull his passport and keep a picture of him on file so that he can't buy another one.

John (Smiley)
I've known of John for over 10 years.
He used to be a BIG pain to Parades, always hanging all over the rope girls at the rear of the parade. Several times I've had to physically block him because he'd walk right behind my girls rubbing his crotch against their rears. Sick guy. I always wanted to bring in a couple of biker friends to 'pick a fight' with John and beat him senseless.

if you've known John for 10 years you should know that they've tried it, but his parents are lawyers, and found legal reasons why they can't without getting sued. He has had his pass suspended several times, which i know because he's told me about a few of them. the one that i did think was completly bogus (having only heard his side of it, figuring there was more than likely more to it) but he claimes to have recived a two week suspention of his pass for having a laser pointer, which appearently we don't allow, which is kinda a nice thing because there is way too much mayhem that can be caused by them. The day I see a red dot dancing around my person, or all over someone else is the day i hit the deck and make a scene.

Lawyer parents?
I've never known of who John (Smiley)'s parents are supposed to be. I'd doubt that they were lawyers, because then they'd be aware of the negative publicity that having a mentally challenged stalker son running amok in public places would be. I'd also think that Disneyland should permanently revoke any possible pass because someday John might stop stalking cast members and begin following young girl guests and possibly molest one. THEN the park would wake up and take notice.
Now that I think of it, I have a daughter, and I've seen John around the park as a guest. I no longer work at Disneyland, but I have an annual pass (note the distinction; I HAVE an annual pass, as opposed to being an annual passholder), so I can observe him, and as a guest myself, my opinion would mean more than that of a CM (sadly).

If Simley, or any other aspect of the DLR, makes you feel unsafe, uncomfortable, or you just don't like it, then leave, and don't come back. I've never seen John harass ANYONE, male or female, i have heard some rather comical depictions of him getting womped by the horse for trying to have inappropriate relations with it. In fact the worst thing i've ever seen him do was have a conversation with my lead (who is female, and slightly attractive) about how he was mad that the girl at Pooh couldn't let him take his drink on the ride, which he commenced to throw into the planter (the drink not the cm.) every other time i've seen him while i was working, or as a guest, he seems to be minding his own bussiness, not looking at the girls anymore than the next man. As a father you might have a completly different veiw, but there is no need to for the seemingly malcontent towards him which you are displaying, i doubt if he will ever start stalking guests, security would be on him like flies on poop. As far as molesting them goes, well, i think he learned his lesson with the horse, there is no dobut in my mind that security, or the other powers that be have had a talk or two with him about appropriate behavior. The worst thing i've EVER seen him do was to sit behind a girl on the train and shatter the bounds of apporpriatness... by talking to her :!:  :!:

You didn't read my first posting apparently. I said I had to PHYSICALLY BLOCK HIM FROM RUBBING HIS CROTCH AGAINST THE BEHINDS OF THE ROPE GIRLS DURING PARADES!.
Is that clear enough for you? I've also seen female employees freak out becuase he came into their shops after being forbidden by security (and why do you think he was forbidden by security from coming in?) and making them uncomfortable. He's also stayed just outside a shop, in view of a cast member he was bothering KNOWING he coudn't be busted because he was outside the shop (he's told me directly that he knew he wasn't supposed to be in the shop but that he wasn't told he couldn't be outside).
If YOU haven't seen him physically bother someone, or had a friend freak out becuase he was stalking her, then I guess you don't know what a danger he might be. As for me, I know he has the potential for danger to the park and the public, and I don't want to read about someone's daughter going thru hell and think, "I shoulda done something about it..."

thats awesome, next time im in disneyland i am going to go around with a clipboard taking notes and shaking my head in displeasure. :) (wow i had to go back and edit) i dont mean that the molestation is awesome, i mean from the second page about the man/woman taking notes in the park and getting special treatment.
How long ago was this that you had to do that, i mean at least five years ago, since POTS doesn't have "rope girls." It isn't his fault he's mentally unstable, like i said if it concerns you sooooo much, dont' come to the park, and if you come even though you feel unsafe... keep a close eye on your daughter, i don't know how old she is, but there are far scarier things in then world then simley, just make sure you scream "fire" and not rape, it gets a better response.screnwriter wrote:You didn't read my first posting apparently. I have to say, GMC that you disgust me with your attitude of "if it bothers you, run away and hide from it" I realize this isn't an exact quote, but it is what you are saying.
For those who are of a mind to learn from this, I can say that one should NEVER run when something can be done about a dangerous situation, and even when you do have to run, notify someone about the situation, so that something can be done about it.
Yes, I know there aren't Disney rope girls, there are now GUEST rope girls (and guys). And some of the behavior I've witnessed (John intimidating cast members) has occured since POTS.
I don't have to worry about being let go, or getting Disney in trouble if I report on John, so I'll be much more aware of when I see him at the park.
And if I see anything that is reportable, I'll report it, so that if he is getting worse (read about stalkers and molesters, they don't just get bored and stop, they invariably get worse) the authorities can do something about it.
