I saw Brave today. It was an excellent movie. I even shed a couple of tears near the end. ;)

Just saw it Thursday. Gorgeous and fun. I don't think it was Pixar's best, but very entertaining. And yeah, I came out of the theater calling it "
Mother Bear."
I did get caught up in it, though, enough that this diehard fan forgot to look for the Pizza Planet truck and listen for John Ratzenberger's voice!

We saw it this weekend. I would call it good, but not great. I was dissappointed in the number of flat characters simply played for comic relief. I think it would have been more powerful if the suitors were actually competent and desirable and Merida still didn't choose one. I also thought the brothers didn't really add anything much. All the comic relief just felt like they weren't confident enough in the story.
On the plus side, the animation was everything I expect from Pixar plus a little. I liked Merida and her relationship with her mother. I like the familar elements (think Disney princess) handled just a little differently. It wasn't a romance, it was a Mother/Daughter story.

Ditto all of that -- and I loved the dad. I can't quite decide if I want him to be my role model, or if he was modeled after how I already am...
