Some of these cats are @ DL's vets. Others will be cared for when found. The usual DL CM adoption will be followed.

Wait. You guys have a program for that at Disneyland? That is very, very cool.

At Disney World, occasionally baby rabbits are abandoned by their mother. They wind up as bunny pops on Pride Rock.

In other news, check this out.

The number of ducks at the beginning of that video is the same as at the end. I counted.

The originals had this problem as well. The usual approach was to mount a steel basket to the front of the cars like this one. When the SG wandered in front of the train, it would hit them in the ankle and dump them into the basket. While not fun, and a source of many a broken axle, it kept the cars from rolling over them, which may or may not have been a good thing.

Modern cars, where the gracious lines might be marred by such baskets, might have something that looked like a wooden fence hanging down from the front of the car like this one. When an SG got knocked down by the car, they'd hit that fence, and that would cause a basket to drop, scooping them up before the wheels hit them. Also pretty abusive, but it did tend to keep the blood off the traction motors.

I will be extremely surprised (and disappointed) if Disney doesn't use the latter devices, or some newer version of them. Sure, they'll fire any operator who makes contact with a guest, but better (for the Company) if the SG survives to file suit.

I'm looking forward to the Red cars, but I'm still going to miss the F7A and the Zephyr.

What if a SG or two wants to ride the basket itself?

Did some lookin around about the Red Cars.

Here's a concept of ours:

Looked up the "Hollywood" replica they used in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit"...

Makes sense to use "Hollywood" cars on our line, but it's really neat that they're gonna look like this. Now they just need to keep "Eddie's Theme" playing in the Hollywood area and it'll be like walking down the street in the movie. It'd be funny/neat to maybe throw in a "Maroon Studios" building or sign somewhere, too. But I think that may be asking for too much. It'd be a nice nod, though.

That was a problem on the original. Kids would let down the rear fender and ride free. Not safe, but when has that ever stopped SGs?

If this is an accurate image, you can see the drop fence below the front end, suggesting the cars will use a drop fender. These have the advantage of not being such an attractive nuisance.

So how accurate is that model?

If that's the case, then I see the red cars getting the Jolly Trolley fate (turned into a bench) in less than 5 months.
