So here is a question so I don't become a SG ...

My son (7) has severe ADHD & even with his medication, there are a lot of issues that we have with his behavior. His doctor has written us a note to present for a GAC. Because of the ADHD, my son has anxiety issues that spike when he is in claustrophobic situtations & where he is crowded & being "touched" by others (think most of the lines in FL). What I would like to know is with the GAC, is it possible for my son & hubby to wait outside the line while my mom and I wait in the regular line, so that they can join us once we reach the loading area? That was awkward sounding... Will they let them join us at the loading area if we show the GAC card ahead of time and tell them our plans? We aren't trying to skip to the front, since mom & I are happy to wait in the line for our turn, but DS can't be in the regular line without having issues (which last time led to us having to leave the park 15 minutes after we arrived).

I appreciate your help - I am so excited about our trip & want to make sure it is enjoyable for everyone (including the other guests)!

A lot of the attractions do not have alternate entrances. And the GAC states directly on it that it is not intended to bypass lines. And a doctor's note will do you no good. What you have to do is explain to the person at Guest Relations what the needs are, and they will attempt to give you something that will work to alleviate the needs.

I would suggest you go to http://www.disboards.com and look about the 17th forum down is disABILITIES. Go there and you will see one of the first items is a locked sticky called "disABILITIES FAQs". Post #6 there will give you lots of information.

Allow me to bang my head against a wall...

A few days ago I had a Guest that had his disable daughter with him. I was with Pooh and he comes to the front of the line takes his GAC out and tells me to let him NOW. When I politely explain that it was thru the regular line he was furious. Apparently, he was very angry that we were making him and his daughter wait more than a minute anywhere, especially when we clearly knew she had a disability. "We don't need to do lines! We have a disability and Disney needs to learn to put those people ahead" Then he went to the hall of fame and almost had a heart attack when they gave him a card and told them that the wait was around 30 minutes. Mind you he was going to be sitting down and in ac. He marched out and was headed straight to guest relations to let them know that we had become a bunch of inconsiderate asses and demand a refund for his vacation. You gotta love that it was his last day. Sad part is that he probably did get some sort of refund and all he had to do was call me an ass and say we were all inconsiderate... sights...

On that same day we had another guest that when Pooh and Tigger had to go for their honey cake the guest stopped the photographer and told him that we should be ashamed of ourselves. His family was with a disable person and only had about two people ahead of them. He told the photographer "There was a disable person here(pointing at the girl in the wheelchair), you need to hurry the people that are taking pictures. She (the disable guest) is more important that any of those children." The photographer was render speechless and left with the excuse that her camera was malfunctioning, because really how can anyone reply to that?

Look I get it, you have a disability. However to claim that because of it you are more important than other people is rude. Especially when you are doing so in high pitch tones. If I'm going to put ahead all people with a special condition then the characters would be passing out on set. You may have a disability but the other person may have a small child or a baby or a pregnant woman. I wish people engraved on their heads that if you are coming to Disney World, or anywhere, you will have to wait in line. Even to die you have to wait learn the art of waiting early on. Remember folks that half the fun of things is getting there, not the goal. Also all people are important.

Sights... I'm frustrated The summer is hardly starting and people already are being rather nasty.

My ex was in a wheel chair. He waited in lines for characters and never made a fuss about it.

First, no he does not need to do lines.

Second, he does not need to parttake in any activity where he has to wait.

HUH? You say???? Oh, and did I mention that he does not need to be an ass in my park and can take his pennies and go the hell home!

That is right...I said it, you can take your few pennies and stay the hell out of my parks, my resorts, and get off my transportation. Matter of fact, you can take your business and keep it at home..where I am sure they are very well aware of your obnoxious and rude behavior.

We do not need such disruptive behavior in our realm. Frankly, I think that the WDW cast are seeing just how much we are willing to tolerate said behavior.

;) Thanks Mapo, you made me feel better. Thankfully another guest restored my faith in humanity. They wanted to see the character and knew they had to wait but they needed a shading area to wait because the heat was getting the better of their seeing dog, so we found a tiny shaded spot and sat them there while the husband waited. He even insisted to be the last one and let another family go ahead of him. Poor doggy needed a brake and he didn't mind waiting at all. We had a blast and took some amazing pictures. I wish I had a camera they made my week.

These are the guests that restore my faith in humanity. The reason I wanted to work at WDW in the first place.

Pity we don't have more of them.

I was at the food and wine festival at DCA yesterday. My aunt, cousin and best friend were in line for the wine tasting area near TOT. A SG with a GAC card wanted to go and gave the right away in line. The CM told the guest that there was no need for the pass and those who waited in line first were first to get in. The guest was ticked off. The wait to get in was less than 5 minutes. These guests were in an EVC.

Set off a micro neutron bomb next to them and fry their electronics.
