What an awesome idea!
Okay, you have to give this non-local/never employed by Disney a hint. Where is the mylar table? C'mon. You can tell me. It's in Pirates, yes? Where? And why is it so famous?

yeah, it's DEEP inside Pirates and it's basically this big table where they cut the mylar for the scenes. Make sure you wear kneepads though. befriend a POC employee and maybe they will take you down there and show you some seamen....:pbjtime:

Yes, bascially it's in the middle of the 2nd show building. I was shown it on the first day of my OJT. I've heard some interesting stories.

Is there an easy way to get there without walking through the ride, maybe from one of the access doors under the Westside? (My job allows me to go pretty much wherever I want so long as I get my jobs done on time.)

Well, first you would need to tag out and get an evac key from our Tower. Hehe, not gonna happen.

well...nevermind. Your best bet is to plead "wanna see it before I quit" with a cool lead OR "wanna hit it before I quit" with the PotC Cast Member of your choice! :pbjtime:
be sure

if you ever get to see the table...be sure to look under it and leave you're mark.
if one truly used the table...you would know what i mean...

look guys, I know you're thinking of wandering through rides from a fun, fun, fun standpoint, but I have to be a MOM and remind you that the stuff you're dealing with is literally heavy machinery. An old lead friend of mine slipped in the pirates show building and broke two ribs. Someone lost a foot and part of a leg trying to sneak up on someone in the Florida mansion (her foot slipped between the safety plates and got caught in the track motors). Don't even think about wandering through a show building if you haven't been trained on the ride. I'm sorry I sound like a kill-joy, but it's easy to get lost especially in the pirates show building - I know because I used to get lost in there regularly the first few months I worked the ride. Finding the mylar table if you don't know where you are is nearly impossible - not to mention the hallways and uneven surfaces you have to go through to reach it.
I hate to say this, but people get hurt or killed when they do something they have no business doing in the first place. :!:
OK, taking my mom hat off...
