Stupid Guest Tricks

FYI, given the information SM put here I can tell you that the offending guests kicked out of Studios were trespassed with revoked tickets. They are done.

Now, if more attendants would pay attention to their characters and not the guests in queue, that would help. I know their training now exphasizes interacting with guests over character safety. Many of them have mentioned just that to me personally.

While they are making sure the characters are safe, if the team has issues then they need to call security. If the character team has a photo pass photographer, indicate to the photographer to take a pic of the guest. If they can get them doing something on film, even better. Meanwhile, hopefully the character attendant or the photo pass cm have a radio and call in the incident ASAP.

WDW is taking a very strong stand lately on enforcing guest conduct standards. Then again, it does not help that the number of incidents are rising dramatically.

Other guests taking matters into their own hands just gets them trespassed and passes revoked. However, if you are willing to make a statement as a witness to the incident with security, it helps us get them those nice silver handcuffs faster. :twisted:

I hope that clarifies some of the concerns. I know I am not taking this type of behavior from these people lightly...it needs to stop now.

Oh!!! I didn't know we could do that. It didn't even occur to me as a safety precaution. My first reaction is to call on the radio, just because I'm more concerned for the safety of the characters, and the guest, than for the offensive... person. Hopefully I won't need to use it ever.

IMO character attending should be considered a safety position as a big part of their job is to keep the characters safe. They shouldn't wear pin lanyards as that distracts them from their character and the guests in line. All character attendants should carry a radio with a direct link with security. Somebody causes a situation with a character the attendant can notify security to send someone ASAP.

I totally agree about the pin lanyards. There are a few locations where I won't wear it while the characters are out (including the Power Rangers).

As for the radio, I really wish all attendants would get one. Unfortunately, not all attendants do.

MAPO, thanks for the suggestion about taking a photo of the offending behavior. I hadn't even thought of that. Course not every SGT would be visible on film. But now that I think about it, video would be great.

I absolutely agree that a still photo doesn't tell the whole story, that videotaping is the best way to go, with sound. They're making video cameras so small these days, they aren't that obtrusive. Of course, these days, with security cameras everywhere, I think it makes sense to have them in areas of character meet and greets. And have someone monitoring the videos live, so the person monitoring them can notify security themselves if they see/hear something going sour. Hey, I could do a job like that! Now, if they could just implement it soon....

When Stitch got assaulted earlier this year, Photopass and the attendant both saw what went on and were able to speak up. He was also lucky that the man's photo was saved by Photopass so they were able to hunt him down. If they caught him, I dunno. Lilo didn't see much of the incident because her back was turned, as she was playing with his wife. Only thing she noticed after hearing a thud was Stitch on the ground, rubbing the back of his head and wiping his eyes. It's not known whether the guy was found or not.

Stitch was sent to health services where he found out he got a mild concussion. After a few ibuprofen's, a big glass of pineapple juice and box of coconut cookies - he was okay. Lilo made a voodoo spoon doll out of the guy's likeness and added him to the jar of pickle brine. (That child concerns me sometimes...)

I guess that means no more make-out sessions in the toontown judges tent! Mickey and Minnie have been known to get a little smoochy-smoochy in between meeting guests meets.

It is ashame that people are that selfish. It is the dream of many dieing children to be able to go to Disney World. I am completely blown away by the lack of compassion that some people have. Alot of these kids will never get a chance like this ever again. What goes through peoples heads that makes them feel they have the right to ruin a magical moment for some one who truely deserves one? Any one who would do that is pure eavle.
