Another thought about moving to Hawaii to work at Ko Olina is the moving expenses. There' ain't no U-Haul trucks running between the Mainland and the islands. You end up with either a container or using a freight consolidator. Here's some prices:

1-100 cubic feet for $1,895
Up to 1,000 cubic feet $4,995
Up to 2,000 cubic feet $6,495
Up to 3,000 cubic feet $7,995

And don't forget the car. The current price is $1,072. That doesn't include the fuel surcharges and tax.

So, the question to ask Disney is, will they pay all moving charges, over and back, or are you on your own?

Does that mean the ban may be lifted...?

Most likely the latter, I'm afraid.

Figures. Just to clarify, the rates I listed earlier are all from the west coast.

So far, I have to say the DVC guests aren't a bit problem. They are chatty, but then so am I. They've proven to be less trouble than the convention guests who show up by the hundreds at 5:02 and expect me to get them a California Grill table for "eight to twenty" at 5:05.
And why in the world would this be an unreasonable request Zazu?

*blinks innocently*

This is Walt Disney World! Make Magic for me! *claps hands twice* Chop chop!

Okay, okay, you know I'm totally kidding please don't hurl heavy objects at me using the Force or anything. I'm on your side.

This reminds me of how I had to tease the kid working podium at Le Cellier when we had dinner there in 07 (the one time we had dinner there- I made the ressie as far in advance as they make 'em) I walked up and was going to say, "I have a party of fifteen, how soon can you seat us? We're really hungry and the kids need to get to bed soon." but I couldn't even bring myself to make the joke with a straight face.

So instead I said to him "Now if I wanted to give you a hard time tonight, I'd say..." and then said the rest and everyone there got a quite a laugh out of it. I said "I'd have loved it if you'd replied, "December...of 2010."

Ah, working with the public...I used to be a people person... Once. A looooong time ago...

Exactly! That's why I thought it best to beg his mercy in advance.

I might not be able to deflect them as quickly as I once could...my Jedi-skills are a bit rusty these days. Maybe they have a refresher course I can take.

It's tough to be a Jedi when you can't see. Sure, Tal managed it for awhile but look how she ended up. (sorry, REALLY off the deep-end, geeky Star Wars book reference there that I don't expect anyone to get...)

Now that my vision's coming back I think Yoda needs to recertify me. Ugh, I didn't ever want to have to face The Trials again...

Probably, but we'll never know. I haven't even *seen* the Star Wars series and only vaguely understand the reference. I'm much more likely to take a cue from Star Trek and build a transporter to hurl large objects at people.

Or in the cast of SGs, hurl stupid people at large objects, like Jupiter.
