In Orlando, employers are offering 30-35K for sys admins with 3-5 years experience and a 4 year degree. Insulting is NOT the word for it.

California (esp. SoCal) is horrible for finding a tech job right now, Dallas is actually in the top 3 I believe. Hope he finds something soon!

I gotta re-state my previous posts.....Government.

I got into IT and realated services from a different route, and they sent me to whatever schools I needed for the job.

but they DO hire IT! A LOT of them. and they have a rather good pay system. and after probation, its hard to get fired. (ya gotta really try!)

Does he do web site work? I have a site with an e-commerce section built with Ruby on Rails that needs some changes made. My regular guru just got two job offers and took them both!

It was just on TV this AM that Texas is an "Expansion State" while both ends of the country are "Recession States"....
Who knows,you may be getting more SGT neighbors in the future! ;)

Our NOC just hired two people, granted it was replacements, one guy got a promotion and one guy quit. The guy who got promoted was a newly created job though!
