I went to a Business College. The dress code was white shirts, Dress Slacks, Tie and Sports Jacket. No air conditioning and no blood flow to the brain due to the tie. Ah, good times! I think I have worn a tie only about 7 times since then and that has been mostly to funerals. Oh, and once at my wedding. Other than that I think that whomever came up with the concept of ties, should be hung with one.

Yeah, but there are ways to get back!! I started wearing my much prized Disney ties when I had to for work.

(I did get a comment from a judge once, when I was in his chambers with some paperwork, but it turns out he had the same tie!)

The trick is to get a dress shirt with a collar that is about a half size bigger than your neck, and dont chinch the tie tight, just snug to the shirt.

[font="Palatino Linotype"]does anyone besides me remember when disneyland had a dress code? guests had to abide by the dress code or they couldn't get into the park? my sister's ex had a patch on his pants (it didn't cover a hole it was at a time a lot of us can remember when patches were popular...the early 70's) that said "your problem is obvious" and had a guy with his head up his ass...security came up to him and said he couldn't go in with that on...so he simply undid the stitches and took the patch off...[/font]

Anyway, I recall hearing that Davy Jones from The Monkees wasn't allowed in Disneyland because his hair was too long (this was in the 60s I believe) XD which made it doubly funny when I found out they had him performing at Disney World a couple years back

One company I taught at had a country club casual dress code for students. The first day of one class I noticed a student dressed in a blazer and very clubby looking tie. I told him it was country club casual. He replied in a very condescending, upper crust, British accent, "This IS country club casual."

Ya learn something everyday.

Other than that I think that whomever came up with the concept of ties, should be hung with one.

My wife insists that ties were invented by a woman as retaliation for high-heeled shoes!

Very true, and its also a triple magnet when you are at lunch, with an important meeting or speaking engagement right after!!
