I'm pretty sure the old fairy tales are all public domain now. I have seen a number of books where they are published and there have also been other movie/TV versions of some of them, in fact the Shrek movies use some of the princesses. Pooh on the other hand was purchased by Disney, they have had a legal battle over the rights for years now so they are going to protect them just like original characters such as Mickey and Minnie.

If the family is on public assistance I sure hope they are investigated over this business. It sounds like they are collecting money from the tax payers and making some on the side with this business and ill bet they are not reporting the money they make. Let them cry to the press for some sympathy, they might just screw themselves. And they have also pretty much admitted they are stupid by saying they didnt know, then ignoring three letters from Disney to stop using copywrited material.

My girlfriend looks like Lilo and her family is from Maui and she loves Lilo and Stitch so I'm always looking for Lilo stuff for her. I was on ebay last Christmas looking for Lilo pins and found one I had not seen before, which is a few of them. It was Lilo with a pink ribbon representing breast cancer awareness and my GF has done the big walk in Sac a few times so I though it would be a good one for her. But I dont like to buy knockoffs so I sent the guy a message and asked if it was a pin made by Disney. He sent me a really snotty email telling me to re-read the auction because it said it was a "custom" pin. I know there are times when you can design your own pin and there have been some CM pins that are not available to the public, so when I originally read the auction I thought it might be something like that. Since he indicated it was something he made and it was a violation of Disney's copywrite I reported his ass to ebay and his auction got pulled.

Yes indeed. I found it amusing that they kept cying "We're on public assistance!" over and over again on TV every chance they got in an apparent bid to get sympathy for their financial condition. All those videotapes will make great evidence for the IRA and the FL Dept. of Public Aid.

Oopsie! No, they weren't infringing the trademark of "Darby O'Gill and the Little People." As you probably figured out, I meant the IRS.

Also, in looking at their website, I noticed how they mention that they're a good Christian family and a Christian business as often as they can fit it in. Mind you, I am a Christian but I am also very jaded because it seems like the some of the worst scammers like to hide in the Christian cloak.

And they say that the blue donkey costume was just a donkey to them. How many normal donkey costumes have stitching down the nose?

I buy pins on ebay all the time and have seen many sellers with these custom pins. They have them with all the Disney characters, Looney tunes, Garfield and Betty Boop. There are many of these pin sellers. Most of the pins have a ribbon for some cause, Brest cancer, autism, aids and child abuse. I have some of these *custom* fantasy pins. I bet I know who you are talking about.

I am unsure of the staus of these fantasy pins. I have seen some from Argentina that have Tinkerball and the princesses in nude poses. They are called *fantasy art* pins. Pretty wild actually. I will see if I can link an auction here of some of these. They are breaking copyright laws. There are thousands of these pins on eBay. Hard to stop them all. But we can try!

And I was all excited the first day I saw Cinderella in her underwear in the tunnel.
