Shorty, Congratulations.

Hope to see you around MK.
Thanks. We'll have to meet up sometime soon. Since you are all over property and never know where you'll be next it'll probably be best to either meet up somewhere on a day we both have off (if that happens) or a day you're off and I'm working we can meet up in my shop (assuming it isn't to busy of course). I assume I'll know soon enough exactly where on Main Street East I'll be working and I'll let you know.

I'll also try to remember to check out names of the Cast Shuttle drivers on my way in and out of the park once I start working. I have your name and hometown and there's a chance we'll meet, at least for a minute, there.

If you are still in MK when I come back down in May for my 4th CP, maybe I will see you.
I hope to be. I'm hoping to become full-time ASAP (took the part-time role so I'll have a job and get my foot in the door), hopefully still on Main Street. I think I'll enjoy working on Main Street.

Even if I'm not in the MK I'll be somewhere on property. Closer to the time to start your CP we'll have to arrange to meet up.

My uncle called today and brought up some important points.

He thinks I should take the full-time attractions role, or another full-time role if one is open. This'll give me guaranteed hours and start me working towards getting the insurance and all. He says with gas prices going up and us going into a possible recession a part-time role leaves to much to chance. He said in the small recession after 9/11 they quit opening any full-time positions and cut back the hours of the part-timers to give those hours to the full-timers. He says that starting part-time is leaving to much to chance and I'm sorta agreeing with him. He also said it'll be easier to get cross-trained in Merchandise to be able to pick up shifts there from Attractions than it would be to get cross-trained on Attractions from Merchandise. If i do this I'd be able to pick up merchandise shifts if I want to.

I'm thinking of leaving a message with my Casting Rep in a few minutes letting her know I'd rather take a full-time position.

The full-time role that was open the other day was Future World West Attractions. I'm sorta hoping that is still open as it sounds pretty good. Future World West would be Soarin', The Land, Imagination, and the other attractions on that side of the park wouldn't it?

Yup FWW is Soarin', The Land/Circle of Life, Imagination/HISTA, or Nemo/Turtle Talk. I would agree about going for attractions full-time. It is much more of a guarantee and you will have those benefits heading your way. You can also start earning that seniority and transfer to merch. if you prefer later on. You do know that if you get Soarin' I will have to beat you senseless, right? LOL!!! JK! I think right now the Land and Seas need to most CMs but I don't know what management is thinking. Good Luck and let me know!!!

Also don't let them fast talk you! FWW is not a rotation! You get assigned to one pavilion and have to Bid your way out!!! That is not the case in most other areas!

Thanks! If I get Soarin' I'll be sure to wear a helmet and padding whenever we meet up. :)
I just gave my Casting Rep a call and left a message letting her know I want the FWW Attractions position if it is still open and if not another full-time position.

Wow, Shorty! Changes already, and you're not even there yet. I was kinda surprised that you didn't take a full time position so you could get benefits, etc. Sounds like that's really the way to go, especially if you want to eventually move into your own place down there. You don't want to be working part-time and have them cut back and throw you out on the street, do you? Although it sounds like they are desperate for full time and part time cast members in many areas.

Must not be to desperate if the only full-time position open when I last talked to my casting rep was a single attractions position.

I figured on transferring to full-time ASAP after starting but my uncle made some very good points about how that might not work out like I hope.

Hey, if you get Soarin', you can start dropping CMGUY's name around with the managers...

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

I could... Or I can just be mean and evil and bad talk him to the managers so he never gets Soarin'.

JUST KIDDING! I wouldn't do that to anybody, least of all CMGUY. If I get Soarin' I'll drop his name around. He sounds like a nice guy who is willing to work hard but is stuck in a slower attraction with not so good managers.

Hope it all works out for the best, CMGUY!
