Yeah, some times a tour just isn't in the cards. I took no offense, and hope no one else did either. Besides, this gives us more to talk about next time!
would have LOVED to have seen you again...felt like "home" talking with you :D:
Yeah, but I'm not in complete control of my work schedule (at any of my three jobs), so I have to accept that.

It was refreshing to meet someone who doesn't think Charlie Tuna is a cartoon character.... :charlie:
the next time you come out this way do let us know :) ...
I expect my next trip to DL will be a major production, thanks to the gang here. Unlikely I'll be able to slip in and out of town unnoticed. :D:

Ah.... no.

This is what I meant about knowing that Charlie Tuna *wasn't* a cartoon character. Only old-timers from the LA area are likely to know about him.

And no, this Charlie doesn't make sandwiches.

Well, when you put your picture in your profile...

And Charlie Tuna... not a cartoon character. Got it. It's Google time!

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

He's a radio DJ here in LA. My Mom listens to him on the radio sometimes. Interesting guy, I guess, even though I don't really care much for the station.

And I'm sure he makes sandwiches from time to time :p: . Though he probably doesn't resemble a giant blue tunafish :D: .

Holy Cow! He was a DJ when I was a teenager! He must be 100 years old now!

I was gonna say, I used to listen to him when I had to commute to long beach in the mid 70's, and years later I was in the L.A. area for an extended period for work, and used to listen to him.

Hey Zazu, I just checked out your photo in your profile and I realized we may have met back in 2001. Did you and your wife go to the Hot from LA Winemaker's Dinner at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival that year? I recall sitting next to a cast member who was working on MK railroad who looks an awful lot like your picture. I was there with another buddy from the Vancouver area. I also seem to recall a there was a couple from New Jersey there (I ran into them at Lunch and Learn a couple of years later!)

It's very likely, we spend most of the F&WF chewing and swallowing. Forgive me if my memory of seven festivals ago is a bit dim, lots of wine since then.

And truth be told, I don't think *any* of my fellow railroaders were foodies or winos.
