Yes, but it linked to the article by Al Lutz that contained info on both stories as well as linking to the original thread about ALL the changes. The article had been covered in another thread. I think I thought I was in the the OTHER thread about the changes....got confused about which thread I was in, they both were linked to the Al Lutz article. So I guess I was responding to the WHOLE Al Lutz article. Sorry if I I went off topic, would not be the first time a thread here went off topic...

I have heard from higher ups (I am not at liberty to say who, to protect them) that the flume is being redone because it is after all, very old and has never been refurbed, BUT, the statement about the flume being deepened for Pooh sized guests IS true. That comes from NOT a cast member, but someone higher up than that.

There have been several episodes of boats being filled with heavy passengers and not going anywhere. It needs to be done because people are heavier now than they were 40-50 years ago. I should say MORE people are heavier...There have always been Pooh sized people, but there are a LOT more now.

I don't like the idea of the Disney characters invading Mary Blair's wonderful children. There is an online petition somewhere to protest the changes. And if they are ripping out the Rainforest to put in an Americascape, that is to me a no-no. People still flock to that attraction because it is so beloved and they don't *need* to change it. If if ain't broke, don't fix it.

So repair the flumes, they are broken, make em deeper for Pooh sized people and LEAVE THE RAINFOREST ALONE!!!!!! JMHO

Also 40 years ago let alone 20 years ago guests carried less stuff. Usually a purse or wallet, guide map, and possible a diaper bag. Now a days guest are dragging onto the boats a camera bags, back packs, and all sorts of stuff. We used to drink from water fountains instead of carrying a pound of water. There was no blackberries, ear buds, cell phones, few if any took walkie talkies to parks, and ipods.

Notice the man with a hand held box camera, the woman with the big purse, and people getting on rides with nothing in their hands or on their body but their shoes, clothes and maybe a purse or camera.
