"Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen, My name is CMGuy and on behalf of Nestle and Walt Disney World I'd like to welcome you too The Circle of Life, an environmental fable. In just a few moments the automatic doors in front of you will be opening toward you so please stand behind the stripe on the carpet. Once the doors have opened please take small children by the hand, spouses included, and watch your step on the stairwell into our theater." I like to see how many catch it...
Inside the Theater
"At this time folks please reach under your seats and put on those 3D glasses (wait a moment) Are there any down there? (No...) Oh, we must have forgotten to put them out this morning...
For the safety and comfort of those around you please refrain from eating, drinking, smoking, flash photography, and videotaping with external video lighting, and parents please...no snoring."
Often times I don't even get a laugh but sometimes I get some people who go crazy over it. ;)

The day I got to work at Soarin' I had a ball with the spiel.
"Good afternoon ladies and gentleman and Welcome to Soarin' Airlines flight #5505 with roundtrip service over the golden state of California. Before we board I have a few important safety reminders...if you are wearing loose fitting shoes such as flip flops or backless sandals please remove them so that you don't lose them, if you are wearing crocs, just leave them on, if you are lucky they will fall off. Also if you have any carry on items that are too large or fragile to fit into the underseat compartment such as elephants or fine china please leave them on the ground in front of you. A flight attendant will be happy to check them, examine their value, and divide them among the others. This is a non-smoking flight and lucky for you there will not be a meal served so please refrain from eating and drinking as well. Thank-you and have a great flight!!!"
Love it.

Some of my favorite memories are the spiels that go slightly off script (or even official scripts that poke fun at themself). I know I have talked about the CM at Carrousel of Progress that had (almost) and entire crowd fumbling for non existant seat belts, and later informed us that our seat cushions could be used a floatation device if we have to ditch in water.

Along the second (recorded but fun) includes the exit speil of Cranium Command when the robot tells a lady she "forgot her child...that's your husband...I'm sorry", and the preshow that asks "where do you think you are, Dis-iny World". And I always HAVE to stay in the Tiki Room until the last line of the exit speil when Iago decides he will fly over to the Hall of Presidents to take a nap.

I also remember an entertainer at Trails End (back when they had live nightly entertainment in the restaurant) who regularly told us that our table and the floor are moving at the same speed (ala the omnimover exit speils) and informed one parent while watching the hyper active toddler swing around and around a support post, their mistake was letting the youngster take a nap. ;) :D:

LOL...we do this to. Have even had the automatic exit door close on us. The CM last time thot we were nuts and kept trying to shuuush us out the door but I stood my ground. That is our tradition and it is funny too. BTW, great time to get some pics of the birds.

How about "and take small children by the ear..." which used to be popular on the trams. I don't know if it is still done, because I have not ridden a tram in several years.

Rotations on small world ended with smallworld/pan strollers 1, PVH greeter, ariel greeter, back to PC. Rotations on philhar complex used to end in philhar return, dumbo shortwalk, philhar strollers 1, smallworld/pan strollers 2, back to PC. During the summer months it was brutal! I always got caught with the shortwalk-strollers-strollers loop, meaning I'd clock in, get someone's break at shortwalk (but rotations take 45 minutes to go through, so they are still at return), go to strollers for a rotation, then another strollers for a rotation, then head back to the PC and get someone's break back at shortwalk or strollers. Finally there was a big group of us that seemed to always get the shortwalk strollers strollers loop, talked to management, and they decided to change all the rotations so you would never be inside or outside more than 2 positions in a row. So new rotations had small world strollers in between small world rearload and unload, PVH in between unload 1 and unload 2, philhar strollers inbetween philhar merge and lobby, and the end went shortwalk-theatre-smallworld strollers. Last week, CDS magically changed the end of rotations without our managers "knowing" about it  to return, theatre, shortwalk, smallworld strollers, back to PC. I can't wait to see all the fun we have when we staff tink strollers, pan strollers, f-sky 1&2, pooh strollers, snow strollers, teacup greeter, carrousel greeter, area assist 2-way, pan return end of line, small world end of line, small world exit turnstyles, dumbo greeter, dumbo turnstyles, snow grouper, snow unload assist, and pooh unload assist. And yes, I have seen days where we have all these positions up. With the basics coming, we will be having more of these positions up, too.

GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY!!!!!!!!! That is a LOT of positions. Hubby and I have not learned that many positions in 14 yrs together! Bang! :p:
Ms. Matterhorn wrote:Thanks, CMguy, for the info! I can picture it now. Soarin' must bring a lot of people into the pavilion. We have soarin' here at DCA of course, and it's DH's favorite attraction. But DS and I really loved KK. Are you too young to remember it? I still have my DS's plush Calypso Broccoli guy.

Back then the "Boat Ride" was called "Listen to the Land". We liked it too.
Is that Kitchen attraction the one that used the song "Food Rocks!" It was a take off on a LOT of different rock songs with healthy veggie lyrics! :) They play that song on Mouse World Radio all the time.

For those of you who are not familiar with Mouse World Radio, you can go to http://www.Live365.com and put Mouse World Radio in the search box. There are many, many online Disney stations there at live365 and you can listen to Park music while you post. Just click on the icon to play the station you like, (any type of music, or spoken word, comedy etc... can be found at live365), and minimize the screen and come back to SGT. You can listen to Disney Park music and post to your heart's content. You can get some stations as a non subscriber. I pay 7.95 a month to get ALL the stations they offer. It is well worth it. When you are feeling particularly nostalgic for Disney, you can just turn on one of the many Disney stations there and listen to the Park and attraction music. They even have the Resort tips and Park tips from the TVs in the resort rooms! It is cool!!! :D: There is also Sorcerer radio, E-Ticket radio, Mouse radio and many, many more. I think you all would love it, when you want that dose of Disney and can't get to the parks. :bouncemic

I think it's about time they got a new show in there. But they just replaced the screen so the theater is probably safe for a while. I just wish they would re-upholster the pre-show, the designs are rather suggestive... :toncheek:

Your first quote had me wondering if we had maybe seen you without knowing it when we were at the Land on New Year's Eve, but I would have remembered the spiels from the second post, so probably not. Where were you working on New Year's Eve?

I was at The Land, but I was outside for several hours. I wouldn't put it past you that you may have seen me.

Were you posted at the doors? Because of the one-way traffic flow on the upper level, we made several out-and-back-in-again U-turns there during the day. :)

If you saw a big guy that day that look like the attached photo (or my avatar at left, which was taken the same day), you saw me.

What? You don't remember every individual you saw that day??? :D:

LOL, that day was pretty hectic but I think I remember seeing you. But at that point I think the fact I was working a double on New Year's was getting to me. LOL! But I did work SWIRL front doors a couple of times that day.
