But that would require law makers to actually read and understand the laws they are supposed to make. And they ARE law MAKERS, not law removers.
To show how many laws there are on the books that are just ignored by the law enforcement community, I once saw a TV program that offered a random audience member 1/2 million if they could leave the studio, onto the streets of New York, and not break ANY laws before the 1/2 hour program ended. The participant broke 2 city, 3 state and 1 federal law within 3 min. And was totally unaware of doing anything but purchasing a pack of cigarettes, and walking around the block. BTW the federal law was that when they purchased the pack of cigs they did not immediately deface or destroy the tax sticker on the bottom thereby making it potentially possible to transfer the sticker to an illegal pack of smokes. Believe it or not, not destroying the tax stamp is a jailable federal offence.

GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:Wow, didn't realize that they STILL had blue laws!!
I remember when I was in South Carolina once, the local police shut down a Ice Cream place on a sunday, because they had a pinball machine on. I guess it was part of a old blue law about gamblining devices on sundays, the whacky part was that he didn't serve alcohol! But I guess the law was written that any establishment that serves refreshments was subject to it.
I used to have a web site bookmarked that had all the strange laws for various states still on the books, I'll have to look for it.

Yep Good ole blue laws. Here in Colorado you cannot buy liquor on Sundays and only Liquor stores can sell it. Car lots are also closed on Sundays, which you would think would be a huge sales day, since many people are off work.
The legislatue just this week here started the process to allow liquor store to open on Sunday and to allow Grocery Stores (which the liquor store owners want to stop) to sell sp[irits. As of right now, Grocery stores can only sell 3.2 beer. No wine and other alcohol. And we even have separate stores that sell cigarettes! I tell ya being part of the bible belt makes ya feel like you are living in the 1800's
I WANT OUT NOW!!!!!!!!mIt is either back to Californy or onto Florida. Either way I will be back in civilization!!!! This old west stuff , the cowboys can keep it! YEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWW!!!!!!! But I do like LOVE Cowboy Mickey! Just so you know Zazu!!! There was some confusion about that on another thread some time ago.... :D:

Our Clinic was INSANE trying to keep up with all that crud this week! By Early afternoon, we were booked up to 8 pm so then the doctors got assigned multiple patients for 8:20 pm as we close after that!
Hope it is better this week but doubt it.

Feel better soon Susi, is Ralph's cough better?

Ralph is doing great, it is my cough that won't go away! But it is getting better slowly. Ralph did not catch the bug as bad and he used his chinese medicine which helps. I don't use it cause I am not sure how it would interact with the meds I take.
You must be busy. The news showed that the flu is finally spreading around the whole country and the flu vaccination may or may not help due to the fact that some of the bugs that people are catching are not covered by the vaccine. I just do NOT want to get the California crud again when we come out at the end of March/beginning of April! I am sick of being sick everytime I come to California!
Get your rest and don't get exposed to that crap at the clinic. Do you wear a mask? Nasty bugs, these repiratory ones going around!

Thank you, that was the one I was thinking of. I had it on one of my work computers, but never accessed it at "home" and we wipe and reinstall the OS after each project so I lost it!

In certain sections of Pennsylvania many years ago, the Farmer's Anti-Automobile society set up some "rules of the road." In effect, they said:
1. "Automobiles traveling on country roads at night must send up a rocket every mile, then wait ten minutes for the road to clear."
2. "If a driver sees a team of horses, he is to pull to one side of the road and cover his machine with a blanket or dust cover that has been painted to blend into the scenery."
3. "In the event that a horse refuses to pass a car on the road, the owner must take his car apart and conceal the parts in the bushes."
They have those same laws listed in Uncle John's All Purpose Extra Strength Bathroom Reader, 13th Edition. :D:
