Done that too. The curtain that keeps the rats nest of wiring under my monorail layout from being seen is just that. But I did go far enough to go to the fabric store to buy new (slightly heavier than sheets) material for the curtain. But, yes a staple gun does a wonderful job of holding the curtain at the top, and if you put a bunch of short pieces of 1x2 rolled up in the bottom you get a bottom "hem" and the weight keeps the curtain hanging straight. :D:

(Who would have ever predicted that GP and I would be having a practical homemaking discussion around here?)

It's so much fun reading all these great comments and ideas. I'm hosting a Disney Cruise Line House Party on January 26th and I'm going to steal some of your ideas (if that's okay with you guys). It will be cruise themed, but inserting a pirate here and there won't hurt. :pirate2: :pirate1:

ARRRRR! To quote Grumpy (who may have been quoting someone else, I don't know): "It's better to have a Pirate and not need one than to need a Pirate and not have one!" :D: (And since I covered this aspect, I now yield the floor to my scurvy, scoundrel-like brother for more piratical parlance! <pssst! Grumpy, that's you!>)

Huh? What?? time to post??? oh yeah arrhhh and all that!!(hehehe)

I do hope that PICTURES are taken of the tykes in their pirate garb!!! I know my grandkids get a kick out of it, but they keep wanting to play with my Cutlass (DW got me a real one, well made of metal and is an authentic copy of the one used in the later movies!!) I keep it stowed with the other weapons!! in a safe place!!(okay, say it...you'll poke your eye out!!!)

I was thinking that you should go the the talk like a pirate web site, they actually have stuff for kids there!

http://www.talklikeapirate.com/

once you enter, go to the pirate fun and games, and they have all sorts of kids stuff!!

Make a drink with limes (Lime flavored drink) and tell the girls that Sailors on the seas needed vitamin c to prevent getting sick so they loved limes and oranges and other juices... Otherwise they'd get scurvy...(And then maybe make necklaces with yarn, colored straw pieces and painted macaroni *Curvy scurvy* :D:

The fruit was used in the "grog" to prevent scurrvy!(if they could get it!!) Thats also why pirates had ..umm dental problems, scurrvy causes the teeth and hair to fall out, which is also why you would see the head scarves! they applied a really nasty grease to their hair, and fashioned a neck scarv or flap out of canvas to catch the "drippings" The scarf evolved to a flap on the back of their uniforms, and thus the modern sailor suit still has the flap!!
