And most kids know more about the park(s), then their stupid parents. They usually know what the attraction is called and where it is. :)

i talk to the adults who are looking for conversation because they've been hanging out with thier kid all day, and neither of my attractions are really geared towards little ones, so most of the time that's who i have for conversation. If some little kid came up and started talking to me, i would strike up a conversation, but i'm not as good with them as i used to be.

It was right before the fireworks last night and we were getting ready for the mad rush afterwards for the mansion (never happened we were kinda bummed). I was talking to a group of girls and they were asking all these questions about the mansion. Why it was decorated and all this stuff. "Why is there pumpkins and christmas stuff?" "Jack Skellington and his friends from Halloween Town have redecorated the house for the holidays" It made me smile (I love to share stuff about my ride). The lead was smiling cause it was cute. When the girls left another cast member sharred this with me.

She said the night before there was a girl terrified to go on the mansion. She asked the girl what she was afraid of. The girl said Ghosts. The cast member then said "All 999 happy haunts are on vacation in the Bermuda Triangle and are subletting the House to Jack Skellington. Jack has redecorated the house and is celebrating Zero's birthday and you're invited." The girl the dragged her mom into the haunted Mansion line. The mom mouthed a big Thank you to the cast member.

HAHA, that's great.

One of my fellow condutors, who was a Miner/Cowgirl/Something or another last night was out at greeter, and the nerd that i am was standing out there with her chatting, and some little girl goes up and tests herself on the single rider under 7yrs old mark, and her parents pulled this sorta oh well, not tonight honey, beacuse she was a god foot and a half below it. So the CM sees this and says, well let's try it right here instead, and right as she about to say yeah you're good mom pipes in with a loud whisper "CM, CM, qeet(,--- that's a mouth noise that sounds like something being cut) NOO, NOT TONIGHT"

CM responds with "yeah you're ok to... i mean whoops, sorry sweetie not tonight, umm, lots of milk, make those bones grow"

The mom mouthed a big Thank you to the cast member. -quoted from stduck's post. And the rest of the family went on the ride. Minus mom and "too short"

i work on storybook.
one day, as we were heading into the whale, i asked my boat, "oh no! what should we do?"
a little kid up front yelled, "i know!" and started doing kung-fu at the whale.

that made me laugh. a lot.

hmm. since i work on such a kid-friendly attraction, i get magic created for me daily... i love it. makes me so happy.

I was at foyer at mansion, and this darling little 4 year old ran up to me and wrapped her arms around my legs hugging them. She looked right up at me and said "you're beautiful!" She was the sweetest little girl ever.

my happy day

Post by pnutshuman » Fri Nov 05, 2004 6:22 pm

I know i cant beat mansion bois story(still have tearsin my eyes) but I had to register just to share my own. Im not a CM, actually a former AP'er(the nice kind, i swear!! we are in the middle of a little time off since i had a baby 1.5 yrs ago, will renew next year) a couple years ago I was able to take the day off work and join my hubby and his co workers in the task of taking several of their students (special ed 18-21 yr olds) to DL on a happy hearts day. They had not done this before and actually all volunteered for the duty. It was a long day, we luckily had enough adults to keep an eye on all of them, and watching the joy in their eyes was the best. for most of these kids, this would probably be their one and only trip to DL, they didnt coe from the best homes/families etc. there was one student named Ka who didnt care for the rides, he just wanted to meet as many characters and get a hug from each of them(no pictures or autographs, just hugs) I thought it was soo cute. after we had returned home(san diego) and dropped all the kids off I mentioned to my hubby how cute I thought it was and he told me that Ka had probably received more hugs that day than his entire life, and yes i cried.

Today was kind of shitty long story I don't wanna talk about it.

Anywho I was on an optamized task to do stroller patrol and this mom and a crying young girl come up to me. The mom says "Can we ask you a question" I tell them of course. The little girl then between tears "Is the first part still go all dark at the end?" I gave my best reluctant sorry look and said "Yes it does I am sorry." The mom goes on to say something to the effect of she doesn't mind the ride its the first part. I then look at the girl and ask "Would you like to ride if I can get you past the expanding room?" The girl nodded and I lead them through door 2 to the portrait hallway. The girl had stopped crying and was smiled. They thanked me and joined the people in the hall way
