Did she say she has that? I'm not sure if I read all of every post in this thread, so I'm sorry if I missed it... Or are you just saying that because *she* probably recorded every one of his appearances!GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:I think she beat you too it! (She MUST be obsessed!!)

Re: Christmas Shopping Madness
So, I'm sorry to bring this thread back close to the original topic, but last night I found myself spending $60 on wrapping paper and other shit to put the shit we bought for eachother in! There were two rolls of paper I found that I was especially happy with: one was silvery and sparkly and all different colors in the light. The proceeds from that one go to a foundation to fight breast cancer, which is good (not breast cancer, that's bad, fighting it is good, not that I condone fighting, though...) The other roll I found that I really like was red paper with green Christmas trees and all the Disney Princesses! It's so great! It made me smile just to wrap stuff in it! :D:
So we clearly spent too much money on eachother. We're not done wrapping all our presents yet and we're running out of room under the tree!
I like it though. Most of our presents are very well thought out and we try to go the route of "something the person would like, but wouldn't necessarily buy for themselves." To be fair, though, we have had less fortunate Christmases before, and we loved the meager things we could afford to give eachother then just as much as expensive video games and jewelry will be loved this year. Honestly, the highlight will be, as it always is, eating whatever I cook for us for lunch (this year it'll be Chicken Parmigiana Sandwiches [eggplant for me] with a nice glass of wine or two) and sitting down to watch Mickey's Christmas Carol and other holiday fare on DVD...ooh! and the WDW Christmas parade too! :D:

Sounds like DW and I..Since we buy what we need through the year, its really hard to find stuff for Christmas! I finally got her a Chicos card and a Barns and Noble Card!!Kwahati wrote:So, I'm sorry to bring this thread back close to the original topic, but last night I found myself spending $60 ..(REDACTED) and sitting down to watch Mickey's Christmas Carol and other holiday fare on DVD...ooh! and the WDW Christmas parade too! :D:

Ah, ye olde Barnes and Noble Gifte Carde (I like adding extra e's to things...makes it sound like days of yore!) :D: That's actually one of the few presents I truly hope to see every year. What's Chicos, though? Never heard of that... (Or did you give her a card that will allow her to buy little latino boys? A lot of women would be in to that!)GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:Sounds like DW and I..Since we buy what we need through the year, its really hard to find stuff for Christmas! Yeah, I'm Jewish, but my roommates are completely non-religious, and they grew up celebrating a non-religious version of Christmas with their families... And the way I look at it, it's a Pagan-Based holiday with some Christian Symbolism thrown in for good measure and a healthy dose of random international legends and myths... Basically, it's a holiday for anyone who wants an excuse to give somebody a gift and be nice to people. The only reasons I argued against forcing stores to say Merry Christmas are (a) The holiday is commercial enough as it is, if you commercialize it further, it will lose all meaning [although the argument could be made that it already has] and (b) The same reason I don't make religious references most of the time in my normal life: why risk offending someone over something that's so easy to self edit? I like "happy holidays" because it can mean one thing to me, another thing to an African American, another thing to a Pagan, and other things still to other types of people....even a non-religious person can celebrate National Poinsettia Day! :D:
