6' 12" as in 7 feet?! Yikes, he's tall!hobie16 wrote:I have a friend who was in the Marines during the Viet Nam era. He had just gotten out of boot camp and was heading home on leave. He was walking through the San Francisco airport and was suddenly surrounded by protesters who started calling him a baby killer and war criminal.
The one thing he learned in boot camp was can't lose. He started chanting that in his mind and got ready to fight but realized he was in for an ass kickin' when he felt a large hand on his shoulder pull him back and a deep, rumbling voice say, "You don't want him. You want me!"
He looked up to see a 6' 12" recon Marine with four or five rows of ribbons on his chest and fire in is eyes. The protesters went poof.
That was not uncommon for the times. The protesters were always outside the gates of major military bases. Quite a few "hippies" learned the hard way what happens when a combat trained servicemember with a few beers in him can do!Shorty82 wrote:6' 12" as in 7 feet?! Yikes, he's tall!
I don't know much about that era as it was way before my time but I've heard of protesters like that. This person hadn't even seen action of any kind and was being called a baby killer. That's not right. Fresh out of boot camp and being yelled at and insulted merely because he was wearing a Marine uniform.
I might not support our being in Iraq but I do support our troops are just doing the job they were told to do.
LOL...ya are gonna have to talk me thru that one cause I havent the foggiest how to go about that.Cranbiz wrote:When I talked to Vicky, it sounded to me to be an OS issue.
If she was here, I'd fix it for her but to ship it back and forth is going to be about $70
Vicky, If you pull the Hard disk and ship just that to me I can probably get the data off of it.
I am in PAGRUMPY PIRATE wrote:I could do the same thing, I have "certain" software available to me that can pull the data, and restore..Where is she located?

If she were here, (greater DC Baltimore area) I'd offer to take care of it, I have an external hd housing that does both ide and sata to usb that I use for just this type of thing. Pain in the butt to change over drives (they could have used normal screws, but no, they go ahead and use those stupid little laptop screws just to make me carry an extra set of tools!), but it's a very useful tool!:
One of these days when I stop in to visit you at work, Shorty, they're gonna think it's your mom, or maybe your grandma, who is stopping by to say hello. Hope you don't mind, and can take the teasing your coworkers will probably lay on ya.Shorty82 wrote:I'll make you all feel even older! I wasn't even a thought in 1981. I'm a youngin', only 25 years old.
I can handle the teasing. One of the few things I love about this store is that we laugh and joke with each other.Whazzup wrote:One of these days when I stop in to visit you at work, Shorty, they're gonna think it's your mom, or maybe your grandma, who is stopping by to say hello.
