Stupid Guest Tricks

I loved Zazu's description of his cruise. I was a paying member but with the house I cannot. I love the site and it has a lot of good info. I recommend people look up Zazu's cruise report.

I am only a guest. I have visited 6 times in the last 9 years. The most fun I have ever had out side the parks was back in 1999. Leaving the MK goin gto the CBR and this was at park close. The driver was young could not have been over 30 and had a head full of Disney trivia which he tried on a jam packed crowd. Then he started doing Disney Impersonations along with a little comedy routine. The whold bus almost busted a gut. Every one who got on the bus was drop dead tired and when we got off we were smiling and in a great mood! Thats how you should end a day at WDW!

Death to the automated crap! Drivers keep up the good work!

I am with you on that one. Some of the best fun my daughter remembers are the sing alongs and trivia the drivers did on the way back to the hotel at night.

As a guest, we've had some killer bus trips. The only bad experiences we've had were on these "different" looking buses. Are there non-Disney "contract" buses? This guy was amazing...telling us not to buy our souvenirs in the parks, but at the shops across the highway. I couldn't believe this guy was a cast member..or would be for long.

What do you mean by different? Was it a city-style bus or a tour bus?

Disney Transport uses all city-style busses driven by CMs normally but when they need extra busses on the road they will use Disney Cruiseline busses which are driven by Mears employees and who DIsney World contracts those busses to.

I know this from experience, they may also use other non-Disney Transport busses when needed, I don't know. Our resident drivers will know better than me.

They were most likely "Charter Buses" brought in to assist the Disney bus fleet. They are not Disney buses and the drivers are not CM's.

In fact, a lot of the Orlando area charter companies hire ex CM's. There are a lot of things that they are not susposed to do but they do them anyway. What one should do is write guest communications and complain, but you need to have specifics like date and time, bus number, name on bus, route so that the appropriate company is held accountable. Not all the charters are Mears.

The most vivid one in my mind was definitely not Mears or Disney anything. Smelled like a Raid factory blew up, and the piles of dead bugs were disgusting. I'm glad to hear this was in no way Disney. My wife and kids were pretty sick by the time we got back to the resort that night.

We made a special trip to the front desk and gave them the guy's name and bus number and all.

I actually somewhat enjoyed the Basics class. 2 hours of sitting in air conditioning, not doing much, while they gave me snacks? Sure, why not?

I don't know that the material really needs to be presented, but I do like the way they presented it as a mixed media class, rather than 2 hours of non-stop power point. I especially liked the role playing, where I was the "chosen one" from our group to be the cast member delivering bad, average and Disney service.

One thing Disney does well, except when they occasionally use video or media from outside sources (why?) is the presentation. The worst one to come to mind is the sexual harassment video in Traditions. The facilitators even said we could laugh at the awful acting and other stuff.

You got snacks??? All we got was a small bottle of water. :twisted: I too, got to play act with the poor and Disney service. That was fun and maybe eye opening for some of the other CM's.
