Big Wallaby I'm so glad you're not giving up! Recasting might be the best solution, but don't try to limit your choices. You are such a talented writer, so your spiels must be wonderful as well-- think of other attractions where spiels are necessary. At the moment all I can remember are Jungle Cruise, The Great Movie Ride and the Backlot Tour (Catastrophe Canyon), but I'm sure there are others.

Fingers Crossed!!

Ok so we will need to let the box spiel. Not a problem, In fact it never was. I have chosen to attempt to work with the box. In fact, it was put to me that we still needed to spiel things like park hours, etc. I basically choose to respiel the safety spiel with the cranbiz twist on it. That's always been my initial act. Act two is the park hours and unique things to that park (like you must try the Beverly, the underside of water, etc.)

What happens if we choose to spiel after the automated spiel is done? Is that going to earn a reprimand????

IF it is grounds for a reprimand, then they MUST HAVE MiM's SPIEL EVERYTHING and IT NEEDS TO BE CORRECT 100% OF THE TIME!!!!

Anything short of MiM's working correctly everytime with correct information is a guest disservice and should not be tolerated by Disney Management. I'll remind them of the Basic's class that I just took where we have ezamples of poor service, average service and Disney service. MiM's not functioning and the driver not spieling is poor service, MiM's not providing complete and accurate info and the driver not spieling is average service. MiM's working correctly with the added info like park hours, events, etc with the driver not spieling COULD be considered Disney service (to some, not me) but if you have MiM's working as designed and a driver like Wallaby or myself adding to the experience, then you really have Disney service.

Hello :waves: , what am I chopped liver(oh smily god, where are you?--kidding ,I really do not want to see a chopped liver smiley. ick), or do you just not like me? :D: Go find my "insert Catchy title here" thread. I am trying my darnedest to arrange some meets with some folks on here and other non evil-x boards And give ppl I like first shot at the ADR's I have extra seating for before canceling them so the moronic masses get them.

As to the bus MIM's. We were going to stand at the stop with signs that say "we want BIG WALLABY or CRANBIZ's bus, if you are not them, pass us by." :sgt: I dont do well physically (bleh/burp/blurg) on busses but if there is something to distract my mind I can tolerate them for short periods. Listening to an automated speil is not a distraction and just gives me more of a migraine-which leads to dizziness-which in turn leads to ...well you know.
A person actually talking and making me laugh makes my brain forget that it is not feeling well. Well food does too, but that is ruled out on WDW buses so I have to go with the laughter. If they do go completely automated, we will opt to drive to each park which makes me lose one of the perks of staying on-site, which I WILL be complaining about. KTULU, add me to the squeaky wheel club. :soap: (closest smily I could find--its bitching and I am good at that)

I might actually like the Safari if you are doing it Big W. Yeah, I know, its great, blah blah blah. Not a big "look at the animal" person, I do it for the kid. Plus it would be similar to actually driving a bus. Regardless on what you choose, Hugs to you(mind if it is a group thing Churchy?) :grouphug: and good luck on getting what you do. :clover:

I cannot volunteer people but I think a snug and hug fest for the Wallaby and other drivers would be fine. Hugging Wallaby again. Is that a five o clock shadow on the wallaby? Tickles. :rufus:

Ah ha ha ha! Stop that!

Today, something happened which you will read about in another thread shortly, so I won't talk about it here. Instead, what I will tell you about is my experience I had after that run. I have decided to do all my spieling this week and then stop, and I am going to do what it takes to enjoy myself. Today, I did my schtick, got done with it and went to call for dispatch. Right before I heard the chirp that I was clear on the channel, everyone started applauding and cheering. It had to have been audible to the dispatchers.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

There are many roles which require a lot of spieling (such as Safari driver or Jungle Cruise). But in transportation, people don't expect a spiel that amounts to a show. That's what really makes it so special. They simply don't expect to have a good time on the bus or a monorail platform.

I witnessed another spontaneous CM show at Magic Kingdom fireworks exit on the Express Monorail platform. This was 2 nights ago; I was in shock. It was so much fun and guests did what typically takes a lot of yelling and in-your-face approach to accomplish.

"All the way down to the end, folks.... all the way down to the back" was chanted in rhythm. Guests were doing a double clap to the beat after each time it was chanted.

They just simply did not expect it.

All the Best to you Big Wallaby! We will still look for you when we make it down to WDW. You must follow your heart and do what makes you feel best! You are the true Disney CM, the kind we keep coming back to the Disney Parks for! Thanks for your spirit! Without CMs like you and the rest here that care, Disney Parks would be just like an amusement Park without heart! That is why we love you all so much!
Hang in there just like another marsupial, the possum! (what no possum smiley? We request another marsupial here! Zazuuuuuu...pretty pleeeease...)
Hugs to you! :grouphug:

I used to work for the Texas Rangers (baseball, not law enforcement) and there was a parking guy who would do a dance and keep the beat with a whistle when the cars were exiting. It was awesome.

Forget getting a chopped liver smilie. Just use one of the baby poop smilies. Looks about the same.
