At least one individual was selling 25 so-called VIP FastPasses for almost $400.00. Now, this is nothing new. But, the seller went so far as to describe what counterfeit FPs look like and tried to convince bidders that these were the real thing!
Now, I went to WDW three weeks ago, and I know nothing of VIP FastPasses. All the FPs I saw had barcodes on them. They looked significantly different from what this person was hawking.
I suppose it's just my fraud detection clicking in - that's something I'm very experienced in. Is there ANY such thing as "VIP FastPasses?"
Nevertheless, who would want to be the family turned away with fake FPs, or who would want to be the CM to have to explain to that family that these are fake?
Oh my gosh! That just seems so criminal that people can get away with selling something like that. Does eBay monitor stuff like that or can someone report it as fraud (assuming it is fraud) and get the sale canned?

No, you're expected to do your own research and use your common sense to know a bargain genuine article from a rip-off fake. They have too much stuff going through for them to check everything. Let the buyer beware.

I think its more like if no one complains we want to make the money off the auctions instead of not being able to track these things. Disney tickets are non-tranferable, PERIOD, so any Disney ticket sold on ebay should be canceled, and they have ways of monitering these things. If someone tries to sell Disney tickets then they should get the prohibited messege like other things.

Dosn't Disney have them remove from Ebay when they find them, and ask for them to be removed? I seem to remember a news story about them having stuff removed.

They are a violation in listing. They are not allowed. I report them all the time and nothing gets done. I am sure Disney has a team that works on getting these listings pulled. I just reported 3 listings. Some of these are those fastpasses that are given out by the CMs when a ride goes 101. But most of them are not. It really is stupid to buy ANY Theme Park tickets on ebay. If you buy someone's partially used WDW ticket, you will not be able to use it due to the biometric system and your unique biomtric finger reading!. DL really should have that system. But tickets are NOT transferrable anyway.
I inquired about a ticket on eBay one time, cause I wanted to see what the guy said. The auction was for a ticket to DL for one day, BUT he emailed me and said you had to give the ticket back to him at the end of the day.

My BS detector went off and I reported the auction. (I was going to report it anyway, I was just checking to see what these shysters tell people.) He bought a multi-day Disneyland ticket and was selling days. He would get it back and sell another day to someone else. That is totally against the rules. And you know he was selling the "day" for a LOT more than what you would regularly pay. Thieves and criminals!
There are so many of them, it is hard to keep up with. It could really ruin a family's trip if they bought them and found they could not use them. There was one story at the eBay Disney discussion boards about that very thing and the famly had the tix confiscated and had to buy all new Park Hoppres at WDW for their week vacation. Totally avoidable by NOT buying those tix on eBay. I am at eBay everyday, reading the baords, and finding pins. There are a LOT of things that get by bots over there. I wish they could keep up with the theives and scammers!

Check out this auction and what he is telling people about the Dream Fastpasses. At least he does say there is no guarantee that they will work. A minor disclaimer...at the very bottom and most people at eBay do NOT read the whole auction and TOS.

Being as they are expired, and supposedly unused, one would think they would go better on the collectible market, and would be better marketed as a collectible.

One of my favorite e-mail addresses for reporting such items is
[email protected] which is the right department. They are the enforcers.
