Actually, the truth is there is Nicotine in Tobacco which is why people smoke it, because of the slight "buzz" it gives you. There is no tar in smoking Hookah, so one is still prone to developing heart disease over time, just not the Emphysema. My parents have asked me to quit, so I promised them I would, I have not touched any form of tobacco in 4 weeks, nor have I had any cravings. I did do my homework before I started smoking it and made myself aware of the risks. I am in no way trying to be self riteous btw. ;)BullFrog wrote:
Just to let you know, not in a bad way, but for future dealings with smokers.
Smoking is a harder habit to break than Heroin, Cocaine or Crack. Simply stating, “just quit” is a lot easier said than done. It can be done, but it’s not that easy and can take years.
Secondly, there is no nicotine in Hookah tobacco, thus no addiction or withdrawals. Thus comparing smoking a Hookah to smoking cigarettes is like comparing a bb gun to a nuclear bomb. It’s a whole different animal entirely.

Re: Discrimination...on Smokers?
I have been cursed out so many times when I tell guest they need to smoke in the designated smoking sections. We have the smoking areas for a reason, it helps create a cleaner environment (both air and ground) and it also ensures a safer environment (before Disney became non-smoking, there were a lot of reported injuries from guests being burnned by cigs.).
Smoking is a choice, it started that way and every time you light one you are making another choice. All we ask at the Disney world properties, is that you make that choice in the designated areas.

i think if we are going to be so hardline against cig smoke, we also need to have the same consideration for flame retardants, cholestrol, gas guzzlin' suvs, necco wafers methane gasses built up from cattle ranching, flea killer and bleach. if and when we can get these far more harmful chemicals out of our systems and bodies, then maybe we can go after the smokers. it always amazes me when a pollutin' ole' suv driver goes after the cig smokers. it all begins at home, buddy. you know, the whole throw the first stone oh ye who have no sin...

You might want to remember that Disney didn't decide to restrict smoking because it was bad for smokers. Nor was second-hand smoke the issue. Smoking was restricted in the parks because of the large number of injuries to young guests.under the mouse's thumb wrote:i think if we are going to be so hardline against cig smoke, we also need to have the same consideration for <misc. bad stuff skipped>
You see, smokers tend to cup the smoke in their hand and hold it at their side ... just at the level of young guests' faces.
... and now you know ... the *rest* of the story.
