I have a good story. Today I was at home and the power went out in our condo complex. The floor above us was just figuring this out too. Well, the home owners association president was out in the hallway with her kids. The oldest one had heelies on. The kid lost control and almost went down a staircase. Man, that would have been cool. :D:

I am going to Las Vegas with my sister for a nursing convention. I wonder if there will be more heelie problems on the strip. I will have to take notes and see what happens. :)

Well, with a nurse convention, if there are lots of heelies in use there will be help nearby. :D:

Actually I would be interrested to hear the opinions of the medical professionals with regards to heelies. Or maybe the heelie involved injuries or musculature/bone syndromes that may be linked to their use. I suspect since the foot/leg is supported in a non standard way, there must be SOME effects and some of those effects may be injurious. Just curious.

This Nurse is disturbed by the fact that you NEVER see the Heely Brat wearing Protective Gear, yet usually their age means that a "parent" is lurking nearby. The "parent" is well aware that the brat is going to skate on EVERY available surface, yet allows them to wear them to crowded places, increasing
the likelyhood of an accident. When I point out the protective gear thing, the parents either act annoyed or surprised. I haven't seen any Heely injuries yet at the clinic, but it is just a matter of time. I would expect some sort of Achilles tendon strain and possibly some hip strain from the posture while Heelying, but if the darlings have to walk in them for an extended time, they are literally having to walk on their tiptoes to avoid rolling, and I think that would be equally hard on the muscles and cause strain.
