That is awesome! Shorty, I am PMing you to find out the name of that school. I am getting my Master's in Education and want to return to Orlando to teach and work at Disney PT. I remember one time I performed at a special event for Restore Hope Orlando, a mission for some of the kids who are affected by poverty. We had Goofy, Donald, and Daisy at the event, and the kids were grateful and well behaved (well, for the most part.) I still have a little plastic ducky that a girl gave me. Even though these kids probably didn't have a lot of material items, they still kept trying to give us their prizes from the games.

It seems so often that the kids who have less appreciate everything so much more than the ones who have too much handed to them.

This is why i am always trying to remind my daughter to be grateful and always think of others, and help out, wherever and whenever you can.

Today I was at Disneyland and I was talking to a security officer. We talked about the kids wearing Heelies. He said all of the first aid calls are caused by kids wearing heelies and having problems stopping in time. I say we have the kids take the heelies off and burn them!! :twisted:

Another idea. "examine" the shoes. Durring this exam pop the wheels out, drive a nail up through the wheel pocket and just slightly into the interior of the shoe. The point of the nail needs to be just slightly below the interior surface of the insole padding.

If the wheels are reinstalled, as long as weight is on the toes or distributed over the whole foot the nail will not be jabbing the foot. But when weight is over the wheels the nail jabs the foot and makes it very uncomfortable. With such "intelligent" parents and children it could take years to figure why it hurts every time they use the wheels.

OR have someone manufacture "replacement" wheels, that crumble after a few feet of wheelin!!
Just replace the Wheels when "inspecting" them, .....Can you say Sudden stop!!

I would say we take the heelies off the kids, put the shoes in a pile, add a lighter with some flamable fluid. I would think that might work. I have seen kids loose control in Fantasyland. Face landings into railings and trash can smashing is fun to watch. I also agree that the wheels should be removed and shipped back to their house. ;)

Yeah, we had the same problem at Knott's. Kids would ask us if it's okay to wear heelies, we'd say no and show them the rules, and they'd say okay--and wheel off on them. Maybe we should raise a hue and cry against heelies to the manufacturers that make them (okay, so some of us might have to learn Mandarin....) and the stores that sell them. And insist that the heelies be confiscated at the gate.

Earlier, it was mentioned that some wear fanny packs/waist purses (the latter being my preferred term). I also use a waistpurse; I first saw one on a Japanese lady while I was a security guard at the now-defunct Gemco store, and I asked her where she got it, and she said Tokyo. I later found one much closer to home, and have been buying them ever since. I also hate purses that hang from the shoulder--they get in the way, they get snatched (fortunately, I never had that happen), and you can also set them down and walk off and leave them. The only time I use a shoulderbag is on job interviews, which are getting to be very, very few in number.

Nah, don't want to mess up their feet. The way one has to walk in those things can't be good for the feet.
