Or like I used to tell DW, "spot the off-duty cop at home depot" device!
I had a couple FBI agent come to our office to chat (I do Internet security) and one of the guys pulls his badge out of a fanny pack, sitting next to a gun in there. I laughed at him. They were both ex sys-admins, so the one geeky guy fit the part. It was nice being able to speak tech to them.

Ah, Wombat, now you're speaking my language, Douglas Adams. Didn't see the series but the book is my all time favorite.

"You may think it's a long walk down the block to the chemists, but that's just peanuts to space. . ." :D
And as a side benefit she found that the pouch being attached to the waist takes a lot of stress off the sholder and spine. She has had much less back pain problems since the switch.
Randy, that is why I hate going back to a purse now at all! Being I'm already working with one good hand when one is in the forearm crutch, I'm continually whapping myself with my purse and even the backpack type are bad on my trashed disks. So the waist pack :D is definitely the way to go.

I wonder if they make those with the uncuttable cable thingies that Pirate was talking about. . .hmmm. . .

Life, don't talk to me about life ... (sigh)

Who knew when DA wrote Hitchhiker's Guide that we'd actually end up HAVING something like a Guide in the form of smartphones and PDAs. For awhile, my PDA actually said "Don't Panic" on the welcome screen too! :D:

LOL so did my cell phone! Then it was Rosebud the Basselope from Bloom County. . .but that's another story entirely.

Ah. . .I'm among Trekkies, Hitchhikers fans, people who recognize Yosimite Sam quotes and who all love Disney.

You're such good people! I love you people!

And Pirate, you're just a fount of knowledge my good man! Wheelchair clippy thingies, no-snatch purses, you're handy to know! Thanks dude!

It takes a special person to like Vegemite.
Or an Aussie works for that, too. I was back in that position today where I was able to mention it. :D:

The reason I asked about the heelies is because I have seen kids skating through both DCA and Disneyland. Security does nothing.

All CM's I know will stop it if they see it. At the entrance, they make them take the wheels out, but the stupid kids just pop them in when they get around the corner. We should have a confiscation system: If we see them, we take the wheels and YOU have to pay for the shipping to your house!

You know, this begs the obligatory "Men at Work" lyrical reference. . .

"She just smiled and gave me a Vegamite sandwich!"

A few days ago I was working Exit and noticed a couple of kids (together) near Crossroads with heelys. Just then a Security Officer was walking by me and I stopped her and pointed them out. She said she would take care of them.

A little later she came back shaking her head. She had gone over, found the parents, and said that shoes with wheels were not permitted in the park and that they would have to pop the wheels. She told me the father said OK and they just kept walking deeper into the park. She told them a second time and they still kept acknowledging her statement and walking on.

She actually had to threaten to eject them if they did not remove the wheels right then.
