Sorry, I didn't mean it in any way other then good humored. I am a little tuned in on it because tomorrow I will be 65 and when I was a kid, 65 and almost dead were interchangeable. I see stuff like old people sitting in wheelchairs head down, eyes fixed on the ground and realize just how close to that I really am and frankly it scares me a little. I'll get over it!DisneyMom wrote:Don't get me wrong, I realize that being elderly and incontinent is simply horrible, but you really do have to have a sense of humor (paired with compassion) when they are naked in the hallway, having ripped out their IV and in the days of wearing all white, thinking they are on a Navy Ship and the nurses were all sailors....
I lost both Parents recently due to extended illnesses, and yes, you are absolutely right about wanting to go before that sort of situation happens :(
I think that I may have just kicked it into death and dying. That ought to be fun, don't you think? :D: ;)hobie16 wrote:Airplanes to diapers in three pages. Where will this thread head next?
I always say, if you can't control it, make fun of it!Goofyernmost wrote:I think that I may have just kicked it into death and dying. That ought to be fun, don't you think? :D: ;)
Recently on a "won't be down for breakfast" post we referenced Dave Barry and his sense of humor. In one of his observations he said, he cannot wait until the boomers start to talk about death...we've bored everyone silly with every other thing we have done in life. All presented as if no one had ever done anything like it before. We should be something to observe.DisneyMom wrote:I always say, if you can't control it, make fun of it!![]()
