See there you go, judging me without knowing me.Ice Bear wrote:Just guessing but I suppose you also smuggle youre children inside as underaged ?
Nope. I tell the age my children are. In fact our last trip our son was under the charge age at the time we booked but was going to be in the charge age by the time we actually went on the trip. I called and asked how they wanted to price it. They said to price it as the age he would be at the time of the trip. Yes it cost us a little more, but it wasn't cheating.
hobie16 wrote:A question for Mr. D. What do you consider a fair price?
In today's market. I would consider $50/person/park/day fair admission. Think of it like gas prices. There is NO REASON gas prices should be $4/gal it is only PURE GREED. They make up/create these situations so they can raise the cost of oil. Not going to get into a political discussion here. But if gas was still $2/gal or even $2.50/gal. the oil companies would still be making a large profit. But not they are greedy, they want to rip everyone off. Disney is kinda the same way. At $50/pop they can still make a large profit, but they are greedy. Their execs feel the need to have 6 houses instead of just 3. like I said. I Love Disney. I love the magic, and everything. But I hate the evil side of it, the greed and corruption.
Umn.. I am "joe public" You know that guy that sets the market and what it will bare.GaTechGal wrote:Mr D. who are you to say whether Disney is over charging or not?
Well, I kinda know their expense from the annual expense reports I get. but that aside, you're right, there is nothing saying they can only make a certain profit. However if the public get tiered of being ripped off, they will go some place else.GaTechGal wrote:You don't know what they pay their employees, what their expenses are, etc... And even if you did, where is it written that a company can only make a certain amount of money in profit?
And scamming a person out of their hard earned money by over charging for a service is morally wrong.GaTechGal wrote:They are allowed in America to make whatever the market will bring. Disney has PLENTY of competition in Orlando to allow them to set prices that work within the market. Just because YOU think it's overpriced doesn't mean that it is. And scamming the system by LYING about where you are from to get special ticket pricing is morally wrong. It's stealing.
Um. not sure which Disney you have been to but we had crackers in our back pack for our son and Disney security took them saying no outside food allowed. Now we had the dinning plan, but the point was we needed those crackers in case he got hungry between meals. God forbid. Thanks to their GREED we had to pay $$$$$ for little snacks.GaTechGal wrote:And if you don't like paying $10 for a hamburger, bring your own sandwiches (I do every time). Disney is cool with that. As long as I'm not bringing in soda cans, they are fine with it.
No, see that's where you are wrong. I am the one on the ground looking at things from a real life perspective. Not sitting up there with a "holier then thou" mind set thinking I am perfect.GaTechGal wrote:So I think the person on the high horse is YOU when you are called out for trying to justify cheating.
Oh and BTW, I omitted your comment about you would not take a friends discount if they were "not allowed" because I know that it total bull. I am willing to bet my right arm that if you were standing in line at the store and your friend was the cashier, and they scanned their card, or put in their ID to give you the discount, you would say "Oh thanks" and not think twice about it.
Now it's obvious we are not going to agree. so I agree to disagree. You feel it's wrong I feel that right or wrong it's okay. (kinda like driving 60 in a 55 ;) ). I have said my peace on the matter and will leave it at that.
