You really should not be going down there, if they were to find you down there recording and such, they will trespass you and probably ban you from property. And rightfully so, it's a restricted private area.

If you want to actually see it, do what it takes to earn the title of MK cast member.

No doubt. But I'm just saying that technically there isn't anything keeping someone from pulling a "stupid guest" excuse, since there are no "keep out" signs or locks on the doors.

To be fair, Disney does legitimately allow non-CMs down there on the "Keys to the Kingdom" tour. It's extremely expensive, but definitely a way to see The Utilidors without having to worry about getting busted.

Nah - that one's not expensive. Now, Backstage Magic (bus ride through all four parks) - that one's expensive.

There was a study done that said walking through a doorway can cause you to forget what you were going to do on the other side. I think it was done at Notre Dame.

Now I know I'm not alone at least! :D:

We took the tour a few years ago with Claire as our guide. Awesome tour, and highly recommended for those non CMs that visit here. Claire was outstanding, and we even went to Guest Services afterwards to let them know. I hope she received the feedback. Oh, and we really did not think it was that expensive for what you get in return.

I think I read about that study. But maybe not -- I've been through a door since then. ;)

I remember when all of out ID's went to the light blue card, there was an electronic bar. This could be scanned through a machine or flashed in front of a door monitor.

I have seen security walk up to those who come in plain clothes into the back stage areas. Security has told several CM's to get a clear badge holder to wear around their neck.

A few years ago I was at the Inn Between. A CM came back stage and ordered food and brought it back into the park. Security stopped him after he got back on stage. That CM was then taken back stage and questioned about why he went to the Inn Between and had multiple orders of food. He told security that he did not want to buy the food in the park and thought he could save money this way. The CM's manager was called and the CM got in trouble big time.

^ Yeahh, not a good idea that one. If he was a CM, he gets a discount at most food locations! I'd rather have delicious on-stage food than boring back-stage food anyways. And whenever one is backstage, I agree with security. Clear ID holder FTW. Attach it to your shirt near your neck, not a big deal IMO.

Personally, I never found much about backstage exciting. Especially near the front of the park. Got that darned Monorail driving around all day, interrupting your quiet time during break or lunch (@ DCA at least).

I had a tour of the utilidors last year when I worked at the MK. It really isn't that exciting and the food selection down wasn't that great, unless you like vending machine food.
