Scots use Scotts, drink Scotch, and wrap packages with Scotch tape. Heehee.

Wait a minute - I've seen you in a kilt, and have the photo to prove it! (Don't worry, I won't post it). You mean that was a fake kilt? Shorty, I'm so disappointed.

Really? To me, that seems an odd place to store it. I personally prefer the garage.

Now, this, on the other hand, would be perfectly appropriate in a bathroom.

What I have is an Amerikilt, an American version of the Scottish kilt. What I want is a real, honest-to-God Scottish kilt, preferably in one of the tartans of the clan I'm related to.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

Okay, thanks for the clarification. I share your Scottish heritage, but I wouldn't know an Amerikilt from a Scottish kilt. In any case, you and your kilt occupy a place of honor in one of my Disney scrapbooks. ;)

Every year I buy a bunch of farmer's almanacs; they have lots of interesting stories in them. One of them has the story of the origin of Scotch tape. The company that made tape back then--1920s, I believe--had a type of tape used by painters which had adhesive only on the edges of the tape, not in the middle. When the sales rep came by a contruction site where this tape was being used, one of the disgruntled painters told him, "Why don't you tell those Scotch bosses of yours to put adhesive on the entire tape?" So they did. And this is why it's called Scotch tape. In this instance, Scotch was used to mean cheap or overly thrifty.
