Huh? The info I have says MSEP opened @ DL in 72, where WDW had theirs start in 77.

Now back on topic. Freak is absolutely correct! OUR DL MSEP began in June 1972 as a summer night parade.

I worded that incorrectly...I didn't know if it was in DL before WDW, but according to your numbers, it was in DL for 5 years, I remember it in WDW in 2001...so that is 24 years, and another 8 or so years in DL. Didn't it even go to DLP for a little while?

Anyway just doing the math, I'd have to say that ownership is definitely East Coast.

Hold on a sec. I'm just gonna throw some numbers out here so we can track the MSEP.
Main Street Electrical Parade Runs
Disneyland: 1972-1996 DCA: 2001-2010
WDW: 1977-1991 also 1999-2001
DLP: 1992-2003
Tokyo Disney: 1985-1995

What info that I don't have the "breaks" in between. Also, apparently the updated MSEP that was given to DLP has "floated" back over to Tokyo Disney again, but I have no info on that. But the current locations of the two MSEPs are:
Original: WDW
Updated: Tokyo?

I may have got some things messed up. MSEP isn't my forte. =\

Emphasis on current location. Originally, the MSEP started in DL, and its the birthplace. Its been there the longest given the dates I put up.

Thanks for Clarification! I was sure I remembered it being in DLR in my childhood. :)

Don't care...it's back in WDW where it belongs. Possession is 99% of the law, it's :mine: Mine...Mine...Mine. :p:

MSEP was my most magical memory from my very first Disney park trip, at age 17 back in '82. I remember both being delighted by the sheer entertainment of it and awed by the technology -- mainly the sound, how the individual float tracks synced perfectly with the street speakers playing the main theme. So cool!

When I was in Anaheim with the VM in '07, I wish I'd gone to see it in DCA, but (1) I was completely drained from our competition and my flaring asthma, and (2) to me it's just not the same if it's not on Main Street. (I still watched it from my hotel balcony, though!)

Oh, good gravy, all this bickering over the MSEP is reminding me of a more-or-less former forum dweller who continually make unsubstantiated claims regarding the superiority of WDW over DL. In any case, I haven't seen the MSEP in person for many a year (since I haven't been down to DL since before they even started on CA), so I can't comment on whether or not the current version is better or worse than the "original".

...and now you folks have me speaking in acronyms! Curses! :cat1:
