Call your provider and ask to have all texts blocked.

When I used to get charged by the message, all it took was a call to my provider to get the spam charges removed. About half of the spam originated with the provider! But after calling in every month for about six months, the offered to modify my plan to give me 2500 free texts a month. Never come close to using them all!

Wow! I could use 2500. Think I have 1500 per month. That's sometimes not even enough. :( Txting is far better than calling.

I'm not going to say how many texts per month I use, but the last time I looked, the 2500 wouldn't cover me. And I have to share.

Wow. I guess I'm really behind the times, although I knew that. ;)

I have a prepaid phone - no texting - that I keep in the car for emergencies. I don't give out the number, and it's never on anyway.

Guess there aren't enough people who want to get in touch with me! :D:

I can relate to that...I have a Verizon plan that allows me 450 minutes per month for phone and 250 texts. I am about 5 days away from the end of the cycle and I have used 135 minutes and 21 texts. (about average for me) It helps that I have the Verizon plan that allows me to communicate with my girls at no charge to the phone time.

Sometimes, when reading stuff like this, I feel like I must be a hermit.

It can be even worse than that! One of the guys I sing with, older than me but not even close to being one of the oldest in the chorus, has no computer and has never used email! And nowadays not only do all of our important notices go out online, but we also download our music and learning tracks from a secure website.

Naturally we tease him mercilessly. :D:
